โก๏ธ SUNSET ORANGE IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
A volunteer writes: Sunset Orange is a senior who has always and admirably lived her life on her own brilliant terms, which makes what has happened to her that much more of a shock. She and a kitty friend had a home in a building basement. They were well taken care of by their neighbors and beloved for their place in the community. When the building they called home was sold, Sunset Orange and her buddy found themselves on their own. Their loving neighbors stepped in and brought them to us to help them get started on their next steps. Though we welcomed them with open arms and a plan, Sunset Orange wants absolutely nothing to do with something she doesn't have a say in. She hasn't felt much like coming out to say hi and spends her days snuggled up in her den just waiting for the day to happen. As I'm sure you might imagine, shelter life has presented a bit of a bumpy road, but we know everything will be so much smoother when she finds a family to call her very own. โค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ป
