Under maritime law, a stateless vessel can be interned by anyone.

U.S forces pursued, and just before they boarded, the Bella I was rechristened as the Marinera under Russian control.

The vessel was taken anyways, as reregistering a vessel to avoid sanctions is illegal.

The oil tanker Bella I, a Venezuelan ghost ship transporting sanctioned oil, was spotted by US forces flying the Guyanan flag.

Guyana confirmed the flag was false, making the ship stateless under UN law.

Typically, US presidents overthrow democratically elected regimes to install friendly dictators.

Here, the US has overthrown a dictator to allow the legitimate president to take office.

The escort fighters are F-35s and F-22s. No F-22 has ever been lost in combat, and Venezuela really needs to think twice about challenging one with a plane that's 40 years old and wildly inferior.
