A theory 👇
The original cypherpunks built $BTC before $XMR and they made it public on purpose.
Bitcoin was transparent by design so governments, Wall Street, and institutions could understand it, regulate it, accept it, and ultimately absorb it into the existing system.
That wasn’t a failure. It was the point.
Once Bitcoin proved digital money could work and gained legitimacy, the door was open.
But cypherpunks still needed something Bitcoin could never be, money that couldn’t blacklist users, censor transactions, or be tracked.
That’s where Monero comes in.
Bitcoin normalized crypto, Monero preserved the original cypherpunk goal.
Private, uncensorable, peer-to-peer money.
