UCFD #1 provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the citizens of Hermiston, Stanfield and ambulance service to the cities of Echo and Umatilla.
Thanks to a $30,000 grant from the Wildhorse Foundation, @firedistrictone has upgraded its communications with 16 new portable radios and a portable repeater system. This equipment will strengthen communication!

With hot and dry temps expected to continue into this week, reminder to be practice fire safety, create defensible space around your home, and adhere to UCFD#1โs burn ban.
At Approximately 3PM, UCFD#1 crews responded to a brush fire in the Oxbow Trail area of Hermiston.
The fire was contained to less than one-tenth of an acre and a large brush pile.
Despite all District ambulances being committed to medical calls at the time of the incident, day staff, volunteers, and mutual aid resources were able to access the scene and quickly stop any forward progress of the fire.
Update 8:12PM: The head of the fire off Eastern side has been stopped. Forward progress on the western side has also been halted. Crews will remain on scene through the night.
Current evacuations are still in place. The public is encouraged to continue to avoid the area.
@firedistrictone UPDATE: We are mobilizing additional resources to the Cold Springs Fire in Umatilla County. Our Green Incident Management Team and two task forces are being mobilized and will take command Thursday July 2, at 9 a.m.

At the time we have lost 1 confirmed residence.
We have 15 - 30 structures, out buildings and shops threatened.
The fire is around 4,000 acres currently.
We have level 1, 2, and 3 evacs in place.
UCFD#1 is currently on-scene of a hazmat tractor trailer fire in the Bensel road area of Hermiston. Mutual aid is on scene.

Burning Season is now closed within UCFD#1!
Outdoor burning is prohibited within the District's service area. No burning will be permitted between June 1st-September 30th. Burning will reopen October 1st, 2025.
