@Nick_Delehanty A lot of negative sentiment against immigrants who work to make the country better is driven by them being lumped in with scumbags/rapists/murders by NGOs and politicians defending the latter
@Nick_Delehanty It’s (darkly) funny how “pro immigration” groups gladly throw legit immigrants (properly vetted nurses from the Philippines) in with fake Jordanian asylum seekers who beat their gf to death
@ademir2z I often wonder how top tier analysis is done on here for free while tv punditry is dominated by big name former pros having the same arguments every week about ref decisions and rarely digging into tactics. But the reason is obviously the latter is what gets engagement
@buscemijr@RisingStarXI Kante is a legend but anyone who thought he was gonna play a significant role is bonkers. He’s well past it. Peak 18 WC Kante would have made a huge difference for France in midfield last night tho
@EiFSoccer Especially weird since Mateta looked dangerous when he came on vs Morocco. France have the ability to get crosses into a big target man but chose not to try it today when nothing else was working. Strange
@PebusPebus@MelissaReddy_ France’s midfield (especially Rabiot) have been surprisingly effective this tournament but were outclassed today. Badly missed a genuinely elite midfielder like Kante in 18 or Griezmann in 22
@hedgeandtrap@lthomasnews This has been a tremendous team performance tournament by Spain. Yamal has had far less impact than anticipated but they’ve made the final anyway. Defence has been immense
@drvukovich@MakerSausage@Michael_J_Hil The Romani man who attempted to SA then murdered Aisling Murphy had lived in Ireland for 20 years in a council house provided by the taxpayer without ever working. Same with his 5 adult family members who helped him cover it up: https://t.co/9g9Ae2UP0W
@drvukovich@MakerSausage@Michael_J_Hil I generally agree immigrants working and paying tax in a country should have some protections. But Europe and the UK have allowed the welfare system to become so bloated and corrupt over decades that the only option now seems to be a blow torch
@MakerSausage@drvukovich@Michael_J_Hil Lads like this have almost never lived/worked somewhere that’s not a western democracy with extremely generous welfare. As a result they don’t realise free money for nothing isn’t a divine right, it’s paid for by the (increasingly stretched) tax payer
@RichieDuprey_@SeamusjKearney The fact the Irish government has avoided doing anything about Sulky racing (and all the related animal cruelty) for so long is an embarrassment and a joke: https://t.co/VmPuGRElRP
@midfield227 Top tier analysis. It’s crazy to me random social media lads often do more detailed and creative analysis than the pundits on TV making big money
“A pianist doesn’t lift weights in the gym to practice playing the piano”
Mourinho is the pioneer of the periodisation method of training in football. Ball-work from day 1.
@kashish_cfc France have looked much better this tournament. Solid at the back and massive firepower up front. If Spain want to have a fighting chance they’ll need to dominate midfield. France’s midfield isn’t great on paper but (especially Rabiot) has been very effective so far
@DaraghCassidy About 50% tax above €42k. Most nurses/tradesmen/engineers will make that after a couple years work experience so it’s not like it only impacts the rich. €42k doesn’t stretch far these days, especially if you’re renting in a city (Dublin even more so)
@dmalcolmcarson@AppleHelix Pushing out more capable people (or in this case kids) to hit diversity quotas has never resulted in a positive outcome for a team/org in the 15 years I’ve been in tech
