Very sad news about the passing of Sir Geoff Palmer who was an academic and human rights trailblazer. We owe him a huge debt of gratitude in helping Scotland come to terms with its own history and embracing our wider diaspora. RIP.
@newswatchbbc Scottish representation on BBC news programmes. Today focussed on Starmer's news conference, lots about Musk, mentioned Macron's speech but not a mention that Swinney gave his first speech of the year. Do we not count any more?

For the avoidance of doubt Labour has promised No referendum and NEVER independence. Voting Labour is a poor option for Scots and will have no impact on binning the Tories.
@krishgm Well done for this debate, but why does nobody ever point out that maybe small boats could be at least significantly reduced if people didn't have to physically be in the UK to claim asylum?

I’M SO VERY SORRY EVERYONE. WE CAME TOGETHER in our tens of thousands to try & stop the Government using an unprecedented abuse of power to restrict the publics right to protest. Over 55,000 of you supported us. Tonight #labour @La@LabourLordsUK shamelessly ignored the publics outcry & backed the Government in its outrageous & unprecedented abuse of power by ABSTAINING on the fatal motion tabled by @GreenJennyJones. I have always supported @UKLabour but it’s refusal to join @LibDemLords & a small band of brave others across the House in backing tonights fatal motion was a disgrace. #labour has tonight supported the Government in restricting our right to protest. I promise I & many others did all we could to persuade #Labour to join us. Tonight they refused & sided with the Government - allowing it to restrict our right to protest & use an unprecedented abuse of power to get away with it. THIS IS NOT THE END. We shall continue the fight to protect democracy and will do it without #Labour if we must. I know each & every one of you will stand shoulder to shoulder with us
I’ve just invited my MP to @VersusArthritis’ parliamentary event in July to learn more about the big issues facing people with arthritis and what they can do to support them in their constituency. Will you join me? https://t.co/4oZ3I8aGk9
TORY MP Harriett Baldwin claimed £2,130 on expenses to pay for her utility bills between 2019 and 2021.
In 2013, Baldwin attempted to claim back a £50 donation to a hospice.

Is it just me or is there something really screwy when UKgovt seems more worried about Sunak and Johnson's whatsapp rather than giving patient data to facebook?
