The Office of the First Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM has been alerted to the circulation of a fake poster online falsely depicting someone else as the SPLM’s flagbearer in the upcoming Presidential elections.

The Office categorically reaffirms that SPLM has one and only one flagbearer: H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit - a liberator, a President, and a man of peace whose leadership and legacy remain unmatched.

The public is reminded that forging and circulating such malicious material amounts to a serious offence under the laws of South Sudan, including the Penal Code and the National Elections Act, 2012. These laws also make clear that the unauthorized use of a political party’s symbols or logo with the intent to deceive the public or impersonate party communications is punishable.

In light of these violations, the Office will cooperate with relevant authorities as they launch a full investigation to hold all those responsible accountable.

Those behind this scheme are reminded that the people of South Sudan are wise and cannot be tricked by propaganda designed to divide our party and our nation.

The SPLM walks with the people of South Sudan - whose resolve and aspirations will lead H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit to victory and ensure the nation’s continued journey toward lasting peace and prosperity.

Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan and the First Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, held a high-level strategic meeting with SPLM Secretary General, Prof. Paul Logale Jumi. The meeting which took place at the Office of the Vice President focused on charting a clear path as the Party intensifies preparations for the 2026 elections.

Prof. Logale presented a robust roadmap focused on expanding the Party’s membership base and revitalizing internal structures. These efforts are designed to ensure that the voice of every South Sudanese is not only heard but represented - and that every arm of the movement is responsive, active, and aligned with the SPLM’s vision.

At the heart of the strategy is an emphasis on youth and women - the twin pillars of our society whose energy, innovation, and resilience are essential to building a stronger and more inclusive SPLM. Their inclusion is not symbolic - it is deliberate. Because the future of South Sudan rests on their shoulders.

Vice President Dr. Bol Mel hailed the Secretary General’s vision as progressive and people-centered. He pledged his full support to the Secretariat and called on all departments to work in unity, uphold discipline, and recommit to the Party’s founding mission and shared purpose.

He also upheld the Party’s responsibility to ensure SPLM remains the engine propelling H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s national agenda for peace and development.

More than a Party, SPLM is the spirit of our heroes, the strength of all South Sudanese, and the promise of a better tomorrow. Let us all rally behind it for a united and prosperous nation.

𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟓| 𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚, 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐧

H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan and Chairperson of the SPLM, today graced the swearing-in ceremony of key SPLM officials at SPLM House in Juba.

In his address, the President called on the newly appointed leaders to revitalize the party’s structures across all levels and ensure the equitable delivery of services to the people of South Sudan. He emphasized that the SPLM must remain the vehicle for unity and development as the country moves toward the 2026 elections.

The event marked the formal swearing-in of SPLM Secretary-General, Cde. Prof. Paul Logale Jumi; Deputy Secretary-General for Administration and Finance, Cde. Baba Medan Konyi; Chairperson of Central Equatoria State, Cde. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel; and Chairperson of Greater Pibor Administrative Area, Cde. Gola Boyoi Gola.

SPLM Deputy Chairperson, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, echoed the President’s call for renewed momentum within the party.

He urged the newly sworn-in officials to build strong structures and intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2026 elections.

“South Sudan cannot move forward with uncertainty,” he said. “Our people need stability - and stability needs SPLM.”

Vice President Dr. Bol Mel also issued a rallying call to comrades and citizens alike to choose peace as the country approaches its 15th anniversary of independence. “Fifteen years is not a short time,” he stated. “It is long enough to decide who we are and what we want to be as a nation.”

Although the SPLM led the country to make history, it is very much a party of the future. It remains rooted in the struggles of our past, anchored in the realities of today, and focused on delivering a better tomorrow for every South Sudanese.

In a pivotal engagement, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, the First Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM, welcomed Hon. Ustaz Lewis Anei Madut Kuendit - former Governor of Warrap State and a revered leader of the Tonj community - for a meeting at the SPLM House today.

Hon. Anei endorsed the State of Emergency recently declared in Warrap State by H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit. He affirmed that the bold and necessary decision paves the way for effective disarmament, restoration of law and order, and the implementation of long-term peacebuilding initiatives in the state.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the economic situation in Warrap and the broader nation.

Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel emphasized a powerful truth: there can be no meaningful economic development without peace. Roads cannot be built where there is insecurity. Markets cannot thrive where there is fear. Investors cannot commit where violence reigns. As such, without peace, the hopes of a better future remain out of reach.

This meeting keeps alive the spirit of shared responsibility that defines the SPLM. The journey to peace requires all of us - leaders past and present, and citizens alike - to come together.

And when peace leads, progress will follow.

Today, Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, the First Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM, represented our Party Chairperson, H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, at the Swearing-In Ceremony of Governor Amb. Bol Wek Agoth as the new SPLM Chairperson for Warrap State.

In his address, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Bol Wek and affirmed the SPLM’s full confidence in his ability to champion peace, reconciliation, and stability in Warrap State.

He further assured the Governor that the national government stands ready to support the state’s bold development initiatives - particularly the improvement of infrastructure and the rehabilitation of schools - as part of a broader national agenda to uplift communities, empower youth, and safeguard the future of our nation.

Crucially, the First Deputy Chairperson also called on the people of Warrap to fully embrace the disarmament process as a patriotic duty. He emphasized that development cannot flourish in the shadow of strife - and that the time has come to lay down arms and take up the tools of agriculture and nation-building.

The SPLM - the trusted movement that carried our people to independence - continues to lead the charge for peace, progress, and national renewal that our heroes envisioned.

Earlier today, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel - Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan and First Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM Party - officially assumed his SPLM office in a colourful handover ceremony that marked a renewed spirit of leadership, discipline, and direction within the SPLM.

The occasion was graced by senior party and government officials. Notably, Cde. Mary Apai Ayiga (Second Deputy Chairperson), Cde. Simon Kun Puoch (Third Deputy Chairman) and Cde. Kwong Danhier Gatluak (First Deputy Secretary General and Ag. Secretary General) also assumed office today.

In his inspiring address, Dr. Bol Mel looked forward to serving under the leadership of the SPLM Chairperson, His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, and called on all citizens to unite behind the SPLM - the movement that has led us through liberation and now steers us toward lasting peace and transformation.

“All South Sudanese trusted the SPLM since 1983 and we delivered independence. Now, trust us to deliver peace, and we shall deliver. Trust us to deliver development, and our nation to be transformed,” he declared.

The First Deputy Chairperson also underscored the SPLM’s commitment to the rule of law and national unity - grounded in one Constitution, one army, and one command structure.

Today’s event was more than a handover - it was a reaffirmation to all members of the SPLM and the people of South Sudan that the party remains the guardian of our hopes and the driver of our nation’s future.
