My concern is if we ban bottom-trawling in the gulf, the trawling effort is going to increase in the Bay of Plenty, which is already severely under pressure. Conservation efforts need to be inclusive of fish around the country, not just in the Gulf.
@mish_ona@rnz_news I didnβt notice any, but was difficult to tell as I was working with frozen fish. Iβm guessing this has something to do with the heatwave and increased metabolic demands on the fish
