@Tunde_OD Tunde’s visit to Malkwai IDP camp last year inspired the kids. Mary, a Michika girl from the camp, got an AUN scholarship and just returned from the U.S.—doing things she never imagined. This shows who Tunde really is—his impact speaks louder than assumptions.

@femi4yo It has to be because of BODMAS, when you have to multiply before you add them you will have 100 × 5 = 500 then plus 130= 630

On the other hand 130 × 5 = 650 then plus 100 = 750.

From Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp to National youth games Asaba 2024...
Our boys really represented Adamawa state well in chess at the national youth games. They demonstrated resilience and courage by defeating multiple opponents. One of our boys impressively won 7 out of 9 games played 💪🏾, unfortunately got knocked out of bronze medal position at the last minute. It was their first time outside Adamawa state, their first experience competing outside the camp, using a chess clock, and recording their moves. These four boys only started learning chess in May this year. The potential and promise displayed by these young individuals signal a bright future ahead for them.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Daven Prashar,a dedicated philanthropist who has traveled all the way from Canada to visit our chess program in the IDP camps of Nigeria.
Mr. Daven reached out to me earlier this year, expressing his commitment to visiting the children, and we are delighted that he has now arrived. He has generously provided us with Arduinos to help advance technology education for the children at Betharbel Free Elementary School for IDP kids, established by Monisola Aiyekusehin in Durumi IDP camp, Abuja. This initiative will also benefit children in various IDP camps in North East Nigeria.

Our kids from the IDP camp went to the farm few weeks ago and were talking about chess, Much to their surprise, a person working at a nearby farm heard them and revealed to them that he was once a chess champion and had earned a prestigious medal. The idea of winning a medal sparked excitement among the children, leading to the decision to organize a mini chess tournament where the top position would be awarded a medal today.
It was really a chess fun filled day as their eyes lit up when they saw me bring out the medal.
