A fish doesn’t care how expensive your tackle is.
It cares about what’s happening underwater.
Sometimes the $8 lure gets crushed while the $30 one gets ignored all day. 🎣
I love fly fishing and taking people on spectacular rivers and streams. I’m booked solid this year and already have eight trips booked for next year.
If you want an unforgettable experience on secluded waters where you’re not fighting for space, let me know.
Only toothless critter courtesy of Dave Brown. Fall is in the air... seems forties a little chilly on the feet. May have to break open the boot locker when get home
A lot of anglers drive right past the small creek feeding into a lake.
It doesn’t look like much. Maybe a few feet deep, muddy water, some grass along the edges. Nothing like the main lake where everybody is throwing crankbaits at points and docks.
But after a decent rain, that little creek can become interesting.
Fresh water moving in can carry insects, worms, and other food with it. Baitfish often move toward that current too, especially when the surrounding water is warmer or dirtier.
That’s when a small spinnerbait, squarebill, or soft plastic can be worth trying.
I wouldn’t expect every creek arm to produce fish. Plenty of them are completely dead.
But if you see current, stained water meeting clearer water, and bait flickering around the edges, I’m at least making a few casts.
Sometimes the best-looking spot on a lake isn’t the one that looks good on a map.
It’s the little piece of water everybody else ignored.

Explored a new, remote, very skinny river today. Close quarters made for some extra exciting eats! Went 2/4 on these fish too!
Not a bad Monday!
