Yet again, a report carrying a UN stamp advances serious accusations while relying on weak or circumstantial evidence, dismissing obvious cause-and-effect relationships, and omitting information that challenges its conclusions. @Aizenberg55 methodically highlights many of these shortcomings, the kind that any serious academic review or peer-review process would identify and require to be addressed before publication.

I'll add to what @Aizenberg55 points out on the report's failure to meaningfully address Hamas's use of child soldiers. Under the UN definition (ref the Convention on the Rights of the Child), a child is any person under eighteen years of age.

Hamas has openly documented military-style training programs involving minors, including youths as young as twelve. Any credible assessment of the conflict and its impact on children must account for the recruitment, training, and use of minors by armed groups. Ignoring that reality while making sweeping claims about the conflict, casualties, intention, actions raises serious questions about the report's "objectivity" or analytical rigor.

The lack of common sense shared standards when dealing with Israel never ceases to amaze me. Iran-backed Hezbollah, a terror army inside Lebanon, has fired over 1,000 rockets at northern Israel despite the April 2026 ceasefire. This again forced tens of thousands of Israeli citizens to evacuate their homes or live daily running to shelters. This is not Lebanon confronting Israel. It is a terror group that Lebanon, despite repeated promises and UN resolutions, does not control and cannot control. No other nation would accept this or be told to just take it. Israel responded by striking the terror organization. Then Iran launched 11 ballistic missiles directly at Israel, massively violating the ceasefire with the U.S. and Israel. Yet somehow Israel is the one constantly told to show restraint.

A while ago, I watched the infamous 47-minute video documenting the atrocities of October 7th — the one not made publicly available, to protect the privacy of the victims.

The worst part of this video is not what it displays, but who is displaying it: the perpetrators themselves. Gleefully. Sadistically. Unabashedly. Most of the footage was filmed by Hamas terrorists on their GoPro bodycams, some also by ordinary Gazan civilians on their cellphones.

Even the Nazis tried to cover up their atrocities, but Hamas brags about theirs for the entire world to see. The killers are euphoric throughout the massacre, and their relentless, ecstatic cries of "Allahu Akbar" (punctuated by the occasional "Kill the Jew!") are simply nauseating.

Some images are seared into my memory forever. I will never forget the two boys in their underwear — one with his eye socket hanging out of his face — asking his brother whether he thinks they're going to die, while the Hamas monster who had just thrown a grenade in their saferoom helps himself to a drink from their fridge, taking a casual break from the slaughter.

Or the throngs of Gazans crowding around pickup trucks loaded with the mutilated corpses of Jewish women, filming and spitting on the bodies. Or the woman in Kibbutz Mefalsim, crouching and begging in vain for mercy.

There is some evidence of sexual violence in the video — the charred corpse of a young woman with her legs splayed and her genitals exposed — but not much. Apparently even Hamas draws a line somewhere: they are not as proud of raping Jewish women as they are of murdering them. Or, more likely, they simply didn't want to embarrass the delicate sensibilities of their legions of useful idiots in the West.

But yes — there was rape. Not "rape" in scare quotes, as the apologists would have it, but sadistic, murderous sexual violence, documented in a new damning new report by The Civil Commission, an independent Israeli women's rights NGO. (video summary here: https://t.co/LTTjiO1s7E)

Across its 180 pages, the report describes "a recurring pattern of rape and gang rape; sexual torture; mutilation; targeted shooting to the face, head and genital area; forced nudity; binding and restraint; genital burning; objects inserted into intimate areas; post-mortem sexual humiliation; and execution during or after sexual assault."

And it was premeditated and organized. The terrorists crossing into Israel carried printed Arabic-to-Hebrew phrasebooks with handy expressions like "take off your pants," "lie down," "spread your legs," and "don't make trouble." I wonder why they expected to need those particular phrases?

I know one thing: no civilized country on earth would tolerate the existence of an organization like Hamas on its border after October 7th. Not one. This includes every self-righteous Westerner currently lecturing Israel from thousands of kilometres away, without an inch of skin in the game.

What do these people really think Israel was supposed to do in response to Oct 7?

For those keeping track, Kristoff's piece:

- Was published to pre-empt a detailed report about sexual violence by Hamas, full of actual evidence.
- One of his main quoted Israeli sources says Kristoff misrepresented his take.
- The article omits context about the background of its sources.
- Several of his cited victims have a clear record of significantly changing their story. Kristoff omits any explanation for these changes.
- The main source of the most significant abuse claim is a terrorist-tied org that has pushed constant insane conspiracies. A group that denies extensive evidence of widespread sexual violence by Hamas and had an interest in pre-empting the report mentioned in the first point.
- The article promotes a central claim from that group about dogs being trained to rape people, which is biologically unlikely and has almost no supporting evidence. Kristoff has since misled followers about the medical evidence to support the possibility. Another primary linked source for the claim is an online grifter known for making stuff up, sexually harassing women, and sending inappropriate photos to minors, while having no firsthand knowledge to support the claim.

The NYT fired several people for publishing a Tom Cotton op-ed with a very mainstream view about preventing mob violence, but Kistoff knows there will be zero consequences for any of the above because the NYT consistently adopts the view that journalistic standards don't apply when publishing anti-Israel content.

Zeina Agha refers to Hamas as “brave resistance fighters”, Yahya Sinwar as a “legendary man”, and Mohammed Deif as “the great leader.” She denies terrorist attacks as such claiming “resistance is NOT terrorism” with a picture of a PFLP terrorist with an assault rifle.
