Hi all, One of my backers and a fellow indie dev, Wulum, is currently running a Kickstarter for a game of their own
https://t.co/vo1kXdBa2Y
The team is just him, a concept artist, & a composer.
It's only been live a few days, & they're already over 25% funded with 140 backers. :)
Gable vaults her way to the top of a new Stack.
Down Ward Update b117 is out :)
Level updates/reworks/expansions, especially on "Stack".

The 2-dev voxel-art indie game I mentioned a while back, GO Heroes, is now on Kickstarter!
The devs have been very supportive of Down Ward and other indie projects, and just seem to be really cool people. :)
@thedeivore Thanks Stephen! :)
The warping ring is a distortion shader effect. The raw effect is to zoom in any imagery behind it. However the amount of zoom can be influenced by the source image, on a per pixel basis. Here I'm using a white ring fading outward to black.
Gable flaps her way through a host of haunts to fetch some fluffy feathers. :)

Wanted to mention solo-dev Stevie's game Zapling is about 90% funded on Kickstarter with 6 days left.
There's a demo, boss skull/ability collecting, procedurally wiggly legs, and perhaps most importantly twin-stick dancing. :)

Okay now I'm starting to sweat.
Final week on Kickstarter & 80% Funded!

Please retweet this, share it with your friends, and maybe even back the project yourself. I'm blown away by the support we have received.
I appreciate every single one of you.
@CaballolD Well, the nice thing about roads is that their complexity only grows roughly linearly with size. A single road stripe is like 1 extra row of polys in the side-rails, which is not bad actually. So geo might actually be an okay way to go, & more flexible.
@psilynt Interesting. Yeah, a global electronic shutter makes sense for high frame rate video where you don't want rolling shutter effects. Thanks for the info. :)
I was curious what the shutter speed was on the Mars Helicopter's nav cam.
In the shadow photo, we can see the blades moving with a bit of motion blur. In this shot, they seem to move about 3 degrees. At 2600 rpm, that's 1/5200th sec shutter. Pretty fast! :)

@MIncognito789 Oh cool. Yeah I've still been updating it. I actually released a few updates during the Kickstarter even. :)
Mainly I've been focusing on smoothing out the difficulty in places. Though one of the main things is that the three Hourglass Game modes are unlocked by default now.
Down Ward funded all 4 original stretch goals, and is still going. :)
24 hours left!
I've added one last stretch goal. Thanks to all who have supported in any way, by pledge or word of mouth!

@GheralfSwiftwar Haha! It is indeed, Gheralf!
And I celebrated with some much needed sleep! :D
Thanks for all the encouragement, and the very generous support, and for just generally being a cool person that I'm glad to know. :)
With the help of some hearts Gable flaps her way up a steep ascent :)
Hi all,
Down Ward is over 200% funded, the 5th and final stretch goal is complete, & it's still going!
I just wanted to thank everyone who has offered their support in any way. Thank you. I have no words.
❤️
