"Kinshasa a annoncé à plusieurs reprises son intention de s’attaquer à la présence de ce mouvement (FDLR) très actif sur les fronts militaires de la province du Nord-Kivu, sans résultat jusqu’ici."

FDLR submitted a proposal to President Tshisekedi seeking to shape the terms of its own disarmament and reinterpret the implementation of the Washington peace agreement. The proposal could grant FDLR greater political legitimacy, delay its neutralization, and set a precedent for non-state armed groups to negotiate the conditions of their disarmament. Rwanda rejects the proposal, maintaining that the FDLR should be dismantled under the existing peace agreements without additional conditions. https://t.co/g9vZLBOsfr
Today, RDB CEO @afrika_jean met with a delegation from Tintra, an AI-driven financial technology company.
Led by Founder Richard Shearer, the meeting explored opportunities to advance innovation, financial inclusion, and investment in Rwanda’s financial services sector, with a broader continental perspective.
Brandon McNulty has become the first rider from UAE Team Emirates-XRG squad to abandon this year's Tour de France after withdrawing on Stage 18 to Orcières-Merlette due to illness. His teammate, Adam Yates, also struggled with a stomach illness during Stage 17, raising concerns for the team's bid to defend the yellow jersey. With just two crucial stages remaining, UAE Team Emirates-XRG will be hoping Yates recovers in time to support #Pogačar and help him retain the yellow jersey through to the finish in Paris.

RDB CEO @afrika_jean also met with Rami Semrani, CEO of UnityVibe Ltd., to discuss the company’s proposed UnityVibe Motorsport Academy in Rwanda.

The project aims to support talent development, promote motorsport tourism, and contribute to economic growth, with a broader vision of positioning Rwanda as a leading regional motorsport hub while diversifying the country’s recreational landscape.

Today, the Inspector General of Police, CG Felix Namuhoranye, engaged participants of Itorero #Indangamirwa16 in an insightful discussion on "Youth and National Security: The Next Generation of Soldiers."
The discussion emphasized the critical role of young people in safeguarding Rwanda's security, strengthening patriotism, discipline, and sense of responsibility needed to shape a peaceful, resilient, and secure future for the nation.
Why Visit Rwanda has become a political target
🔹Every time Rwanda launches a major international sports partnership, the backlash is swift and familiar. Pressure groups urge clubs to walk away. Sponsors are criticised. The deal is portrayed not as a tourism investment but as an exercise in sportswashing. Increasingly, Visit Rwanda is being judged less as a marketing campaign than as a proxy for wider political battles over Rwanda itself.
🔹The Visit Rwanda brand has come under attack not because of what it conceals, but because of what it represents: a country determined to market itself on its own terms, using its natural beauty, security, infrastructure, and strategic investments to build prosperity. For some critics, the apparent offence is not that these partnerships are commercially irrational or economically ineffective. Rather, it is that the country being promoted is Rwanda.
🔹According to Rwanda Development Board's 2025 annual report, the country welcomed 1.49 million visitors, a nine per cent increase over the previous year. Tourism revenues reached a record USD 685 million, up from USD 647 million in 2024. Rwanda's meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) sector also expanded, generating USD 94.7 million in 2025, compared with USD 84.8 million the previous year.
🔹Visit Rwanda should therefore be assessed by the visitors it attracts, the revenue it generates, the businesses it supports, and the opportunities it creates – not by the hostility of campaigners who have concluded that Rwanda's success is itself the problem.
