@MDusty663079 Gavin’s money came from the Getty’s—who were the Elon Musks of their day. Of course, instead of taking their wealth and investing to grow the economy, they hid it in art so they wouldn’t have to pay taxes.
But that’s different.
@KyleBumpus@DerwinLGray Depends how you frame it. When I was growing up, middle class people didn’t have air conditioners, iPhones, computers, or even cars or tv’s in some cases.
Now these things are just expected.
@literaryeric It’s not even that. Elon’s wealth is an estimation of what his first share he sold would get multiplied by all shares. That would never happen in real life. Further, before the wealth was estimated in the share, it didn’t exist. This is what’s meant by “wealth creation.”
@DeathMetalV Yesterday, Elon Musk made over 1000 people millionaires. The only person Bernie Sanders made a millionaire was himself.
It’s not about the money. It’s about who has it.
@BrandonLBradfor You still can’t get the math to work.
Musk bet on himself. He didn’t take salaries, he took options. If Tesla would have failed, he would have lost everything and had no money. That happens, and you’re fine. But the company succeeds and you’re mad? Sounds like jealousy.
@AndrewLolk The irony is that Gavin Newsom’s entire life was set up by the Getty family. J Paul Getty was the Elon Musk of his time and yet Gavin’s family had no qualms latching on to him to gain power.
It’s not about the money. It’s about who has it.
@RockChartrand That’s the first half. The second half is why. Bernie views himself as better than you and believes he has a sovereign right to control every aspect of your life. Further, he demands that you always acknowledge him as your better.
@TBR24_7@RoKhanna Elon worked with others to form a company that created value for thousands of people. Ro just thinks he’s entitled to it because he’s part of the government and he thinks the government should own everything.
@redskeeter@RoKhanna Ro gets *five times* Elon‘s entire net worth every year and he says it’s not enough.
If that doesn’t explain the need for limited government, I don’t know what does.
@GreenPlusAnE Bernie’s endgame is an all-powerful government with him at the top that chooses whether you eat or starve. Nothing more. He couldn’t care less about poor people.
