Until now, physicians using AI in clinic had to assemble the patient’s context themselves. Allergies, comorbidities, medications, prior procedures, copy-pasted in from the chart.

Today we’re announcing a partnership with @CedarsSinai. OpenEvidence now works directly inside Epic, drawing on the patient’s full record and interpreting the medical literature through the lens of that specific patient.

Cedars-Sinai is the first academic health system to deploy patient-aware clinical intelligence at enterprise scale. The clinician asks a complex question in natural language. The answer reflects both the best available evidence and the patient in front of them.

Patient data is never stored after the clinical session or used for any other purpose.

Insurance won’t cover a kyphoplasty for a 94 y/o patient. Patient still fully independent prior to this injury. No option for appeal after P2P “conversation” was just the peer reading me the insurer’s guidelines. Tragic and will almost certainly end in massive decrements in function if not worse.

The left column is current site of service differential for an epidural steroid injection done in an independent physician office (top) and then again done in a vertically integrated, hospital employed physician office (bottom - HOPD). The right column is a proposed policy change.

These are Medicare payments. Imagine what it looks like under private insurance. Look at the incentive we have created for facilities to purchase physician practices. Even if you pay the doctor what they earned in the past, just on facility fees the hospital is making 3X what it spends on the doctor every day of every year. That’s before considering 340B, referrals (physical therapy, imaging, lab, other physicians), and facility payments for surgeries at their hospital.

Former LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier underwent tests at the NFL combine that revealed a cyst on his spine — the root cause of the persistent oblique pain that derailed his 2025 season, sources say.

The cyst was pressing on a nerve, causing discomfort in Nussmeier’s oblique. He has been asymptomatic since just prior to the Senior Bowl and all throughout the draft process; if that changes down the road, Nussmeier could undergo a minimally invasive procedure and miss just 2-3 weeks while stitches heal.

Either way, doctors say, there is no short- or long-term risk for Nussmeier, who is projected a mid-round pick in this week’s NFL Draft.
