You only live twice; once when you're born and once when you watch the mighty blues in a night match at Goodison Park - okay and a Ferrari win at Monza!!!!
Hard to believe it's over 2 years since my open heart surgery for an aortic aneurysm. It was something that was discovered in a medical check-up, without any symptoms. I'm forever grateful to the doctors and nurses who looked after me, and to be able to live my life without limitations is truly a blessing 🙏🙏
A fading scar is reminding me of that event everyday when I'm looking at the mirror 👀
Everton new parent company Roundhouse Capital publishes accounts. It paid Farhad Moshiri £25m up front with a further £42m due at future dates, as well as paying off £251m of existing loans.
Just over half of the 92 clubs in top 4 divisions in England have published 2024/25 accounts.
Only 4 are profitable: Liverpool, Bournemouth, Plymouth Argyle and Peterborough United.
Average pre-tax losses: PL £31.1m, Championship £15.1m, League One £5.0m, League Two £2.6m.
Interesting that in the Everton points deduction verdict the Premier League said “A financial penalty for a club that enjoys the support of a wealthy owner is not a sufficient penalty” and that “the requirements of deterrence, vindication of compliant clubs, and the protection of the integrity of the sport demand a sporting sanction in the form of a points deduction’.
Presumably the Chelsea fine (which ultimately is just a deduction from what billion dollar Clearlake will pay to billionaire Abramovich from the £150m held back at the deal date) is then neither punishment, a deterrent or protecting the integrity of the sport?
If I was an Everton or Forest fan would not be happy with this outcome.
Very strange that West Ham owners have chosen to borrow £124million from a company called Rights & Media Funding Ltd. This company does not publish audited accounts, has zero employees, spent a grand total of nine grand on assets last year and is based in the finance hub of N̷e̷w̷ ̷Y̷o̷r̷k̷,̷ ̷C̷a̷n̷a̷r̷y̷ ̷W̷h̷a̷r̷f̷,̷ ̷F̷r̷a̷n̷k̷f̷u̷r̷t̷,̷ ̷T̷o̷k̷y̷o̷ Macclesfield
Rest in peace, Tommy Wright. Tommy was right up there as one of the Toffees’ finest right-backs, although he had been an inside-forward as a youngster. A one club man. 374 EFC appearances, 11 England caps, Everton Giant.
Sending our love to his family & friends.

Hugely important point made by @vicderbyshire 👏
"It's Farage at his absolute weakest - thin-skinned, easy to offend, and nurturing a persecution complex."
Farage's outburst at the BBC over antisemitism claims is "deeply watchable in a '𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨?' kind of way."

Reform is reporting £331 million in savings across the councils it runs, but Private Eye’s Rotten Boroughs writer Saba Salman says the claims are complete guff.
In Kent, the party’s flagship council, supposed tens of millions in savings include cutting councillor allowances only to reallocate the money elsewhere.

Literally everyone saw this coming.
Trump stiffed his contractors and then fell out with his architect because he refused to back Trump’s demand for a ballroom bigger than the White House. There’s almost no chance DC would grant permits for that.
And those corporate donations he keeps bragging about are just pledges, not real money. Taxpayers will end up on the hook one way or another.
