We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, to Tolka Park yesterday to unveil a Dublin City Commemorative Plaque in Tolka Park ๐ค๐ผ
The plaque commemorates the first floodlit football match in Dublin, played in Tolka Park on March 30th 1953 between Drumcondra and St Mirren ๐ก
That first match pioneered an innovation that would transform football here in Ireland. Its success changed how and when football could be enjoyed by the people of Dublin ๐ก
