During the weekend, I needed to run a simple errand in Lagos. Nothing complex, just one of those tasks you know will steal half your day.
I had the money but I didnโt have the time or the patience for traffic, back-and-forth calls, or โIโm almost there.โ
So I researched online and found Tucello (@tucelloapp). Someone nearby handled the task for me while I stayed focused on my work.
What stood out wasnโt speed for me. It was predictability. One task. One person. Clear instructions. Clear timing.
Thatโs when it clicked: Tucello isnโt dispatch. Itโs a P2P time-sharing platform โ people earn by sharing time, not vehicles.
If youโre a student, unemployed, or just have flexible hours, you donโt need a bike or car to earn. Time is the asset.
And if youโre working 9โ5 (or worse), itโs a way to offload everyday friction without drama.
In a country where salaries are tight and time is constantly wasted, that exchange makes sense.
Tucello wonโt solve unemployment. But it does something practical: it connects idle time to real, everyday needs locally.
If youโve ever wished you could buy back time or earn from the little free time you have, this is worth understanding โ not hyping, just understanding.
I promise not to hide updates from you this year. ๐
Watch the short videos if you want to earn or save time.
Thinking job hunting is just applying.
Most people:
- Apply blindly
- Donโt position their skills
- Donโt tailor their CV
- Donโt build visibility
- Donโt leverage referrals
Job hunting is a strategy problem, not an effort problem.
Recruiters donโt hire effort. They hire clarity, proof and fit.
If you can not clearly communicate:
โ what you do
โ the value you bring
โ the role you are targeting
youโll keep getting ignored, no matter how โqualifiedโ you are.
And the painful truth is silence isnโt rejection, it is misalignment.
Fix the strategy, not the application count.
Recruiter take ๐
Neither A nor B, do C instead.
C) Send a short, contextual message + links (not attachments).
Why? Attachments upfront feel heavy and spammy. Waiting to be asked slows momentum.
Best approach:
โข Acknowledge the role
โข State why youโre a good fit (1โ2 lines)
โข Drop links to your CV/portfolio
โข End with a soft CTA
Example:
Hi Ibukun, I saw your post about the Product Design role. Iโm an expert UX/UI Designer with experience in UX research, interaction design and usability testing. I have increased user retention by 32%, achieved higher conversion rates, and improved brand perception resulting from well-designed products that stand out in the market for Fintech and crypto. You can view my CV and portfolio here. Happy to chat if this aligns.
Recruiters value clarity, relevance and respect for time, not bulk messages.
Template: Hi [Name], I saw your post about the [role]. Iโm a [role] with experience in [key skill/result]. Iโve shared my CV and portfolio here [link]. Happy to chat if this aligns.

If you will realize, I stopped posting $, ยฃ, โฌ jobs like I used to 2 years ago.
Aren't y'all here complaining because of Upwork Connect?
Oh yes! Just like Upwork, some remote job sites I source jobs from are placing a price tag on job seekers to access their platforms too.
They are changing their business model because job seekers benefit from their platforms just like employers.
Imagine, me subscribing to a platform using my $, and one STUPID fellow here would say I posted a fake job.
The reason you don't see these jobs on the pages of your favs is that I no longer post them. That's how invaluable I am.
Look at the number of my followers, then take into account users of those platforms and non-followers also who would apply for the same job as you and you think you're the most important or qualified candidate?!
You're in a global talent market, competing against people a lot of factors favour. Wake up from that dream and position yourself well.
If you don't know something, ask or seek to learn it.
My job posting era (voluntarily) is coming to an end. I plan to end 2025 with it.
I'm been evolving since though and I think it's high time.
Around 65% of the jobs I post now are paid for, I just need to make it 100%.

Transferable Skills Checklist
When youโre searching for a new job, especially if you have little or no formal experience, or youโre transitioning into a new field, the key is to focus on transferable skills.
These are skills youโve gained from personal projects, group work, volunteer experience, or previous roles that can be applied to the position youโre targeting.
Employers pay close attention to these.
While itโs great to include them on your CV, what truly sets you apart is your ability to clearly articulate how youโve used them during interviews.
Check the image for examples of transferable skills across different roles and scenarios.
This could be the very reason you land your next job.
Share this with someone who needs it.
When you attend an online interview, don't turn on your camera if the interviewer's camera is off.
The interviewer should start first, followed by you.
If your video is slowing down your network, ask for permission to turn it off. Simple etiquette.
There is something we call MIRRORING and it should always start from the person leading. Do as they do.
And it is unprofessional as an interviewer to have your camera turned off but want the candidate's own turn on.
We need to do better.
Dear sirs/mas,
AI is useful but donโt be lazy. Edit ChatGPT output on your CV/cover letter.
Document your work as it makes writing a stronger CV easier.
Someone once DMโd me raw ChatGPT text, no edits. Donโt do that. AI should help, not replace your thinking.
The worst thing you can do as a recent grad is to apply for tech roles with no side/personal projects, when you have 0 experience.
I will see you as an unserious individual.
PS: You can tailor your project works as experience. That will go a long way.
