@johnrabe Yeah same. Can't say exactly which part of the game brings the biggest drop in hope. Maybe pitching.

[That's a Winner @fivecents_worth]

Yep a former first round pick for a so and so pitcher.

Mo in 2022: “Dylan, we’re not trading you. I don’t care if they offer me Juan Freaking Soto.”

Mo in 2024: “Hey, Dylan, the Rays just offered me Shawn Somethingorother. He maybe pitches? I dunno, whatever. Anyway, pack your stuff.”

This quote sums up the 23' Cards and probably 24': "this front office has an unsettling habit of overrating its roster talent."

[That's a Winner @fivecents_worth]

Seems like Mo is only looking at the IP. Which would hold the bullpen off to later in the game, but still no great ERA pitcher.

[Brenden Schaeffer🎳 @bschaeffer12]

So you get rid of:

Wainwright - 101 IP, 7.40 ERA
Hudson - 81.1 IP, 4.98 ERA
Woodford - 47.2 IP, 6.23 ERA
Flaherty - 109.2 IP, 4.43 ERA

= 339.2 IP, 5.70 ERA in 61 starts
Cost: Roughly $23 mil

And you add, for
Lynn - 183.2 IP, 5.73 ERA
Gibson - 192 IP, 4.73 ERA

= 375.2 IP, 5.23 ERA in 65 starts
Cost: $23 mil

The Cardinals consolidated what they got from four guys last year into two guys. How much better did that make them?

[That's a Winner @fivecents_worth]

@johnrabe Yeah it's good for him, but why throw so much money at a manager.

[That's a Winner @fivecents_worth]

Good pitching.

[JBIF Stupid Town ™ @johnrabe]

The lowly Cardinals hit the road and win three straight series—two of them against the two best teams in baseball. Go figure. #STLCards

[That's a Winner @fivecents_worth]

They better make their draft pick worthwhile.

[JBIF Stupid Town ™ @johnrabe]

The Rockies, who came into the series only having won 17 games on the road this year, take two of three from the Cardinals. By the way, whatever pitching changes are made, this is basically the offense the Cards are going with next year. 3-7 on the homestand. #STLCards

[Frank Cusumano @Frank_Cusumano]

This is insane. It’s like they weren’t meant to ever win a game. How many different ways can they lose!!!!

[That's a Winner @fivecents_worth]

@johnrabe @ClaibsOnline From watching the Cards this season,.. Yikes is right. Back in the Whitey days... By June if your not within 4 games out, your not in it. But that was with 2 divisions and no wildcards.

[That's a Winner @fivecents_worth]

@johnrabe Yeah he's a different hitter than he was in recent years.
