@EJXD2 Why doesn’t the pitiful management at beltara make a slight effort to pressure the HOF ? Oh because it might require effort, that doesn’t include bleaching hair or fake eyelashes / sharpening finger claws/ posting false information?
ENOUGH OF THE SPIN. HERE'S THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT'S REALLY KILLING HORSE RACING.
Jon Stettin just wrote what far too many in horse racing media and leadership have refused to say.
For months, we've been fed carefully managed narratives, "thought pieces," and discussion series that tiptoe around the issues destroying this sport.
Enough of it!
The biggest problems aren't complicated. They're staring us in the face:
• Leadership without accountability.
• A governance structure that protects itself instead of the industry.
• Inflation-adjusted handle that is down 50% since 2003.
• An opaque CAW system that demands full transparency, not more lip service.
• No fully funded national aftercare system.
• No meaningful national marketing or media strategy.
• Too many organizations talking and not doing, while the sport continues to lose fans, owners, and wagering.
Constructive criticism isn't "noise." It's what happens when the people who actually love this sport refuse to stay silent while the establishment keeps insisting everything is under control.
Whether you agree with every word Jon wrote or not, he's willing to confront the issues others keep avoiding. That's how real conversations begin.
Read the article. Then ask yourself one question:
If these aren't the industry's biggest problems...what are?
