The Chinese Yuan has become Brazil's 2nd largest currency in its foreign reserves (according to a central bank report on Friday).
This shift reflects Brazil's deepening economic ties with its biggest trading partner, China.
The Yuan now accounts for 5.4% of the central bank's holdings, surpassing the euro's 4.7%.
The US dollar remains dominant, making up 80% of Brazil's total foreign reserves.
