Pedestrians from the third and fourth district still walk this daily (with no crosswalks). That said, @kcpolice enforcing traffic laws would certainly be a start in saving lives on Cleaver II Boulevard.

Not sure about the funds to redo it though after the city council TIO lead by @QuintonLucasKC voted to table the convo resulting in it being marked in the same dangerous way.

This is why people are upset the mayor stopped the conversation and made it all about a city wide bike lane plan, we’ve had bike lanes for ~10 years.

We wouldn’t design an 8’-wide vehicle lane directly against a bluff, yet we’ll continue to do this to the most vulnerable road users. This is grossly negligent design and so far beyond anything that could be considered an acceptable use of public resources.

@theaaronv @KansasCity @EricWBunch @KCStar @BikeWalkKC @Kc4SafeStreets This bike lane configuration was initially installed in ~ 2013. Leaders were suppose to reconfigure Cleaver to make it safer for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists but @QuintonLucasKC blocked efforts. This will surely leave Cleaver at the top of the most dangerous streets list.
