@sorimmelspacher Open weights on Bedrock is still AWS's jurisdiction though. You get the model, not control of the stack. The real shift is running those same open-weight models on EU-owned infra. That's what actually changes the dependency.

@PernotLeplay The "pinky promise" is the actual problem. A US-owned provider in Frankfurt is still reachable under the CLOUD Act. Data location isn't jurisdiction. Microsoft more or less admitted this to the French Senate. No contract clause changes who owns the company.

@PernotLeplay @MistralAI Mistral are doing the hardest part of this. Training your own frontier models is the real mountain. The least the rest of us can do is make sure the models run on EU infra, not just EU regions of US clouds.
