I never thought I’d have to say goodbye to @fizagom account like this.
They’ve so many memories, chats, and all the moots I met there, especially my dear MBBs. It was more than just an account to me, it was a part of my fangirl era.

Someone asked if Kihyun going to change his solo song for encore and he was like???
🐹: That's such a great baiting question. If we do encore...
🐹: I'll change the song for US tour, but I still don't know which song I will perform
🐹: Since my album already out, just like how Shownu and Hyungwon changed their song too (they performed Do You Love Me)
Kihyun once again wrote a personal message on the signed album that he gifted to MV director Lee Rae-kyung 😭 #KIHYUN#기현
🐹Director!!! The reactions to the music video are already exploding!!!
Thank you for guiding me despite the difficult conditions.
I'll be asking for your help again next time too! 🤍
260717 중앙일보 Telepathy Kitchen interview with Kihyun [Full Translation] #기현#KIHYUN
"I'm the type of person who forgets my words easily, but Monbebes remember everything, even such a little thing".
Q: You’re back with the second solo EP 'BORDERLINE)'. What is the point that you focus on the most when you are preparing this album?
A: I paid most attention to the ‘song’s quality’. I was never this confident when I told my fans (Monbebe) about my album or song. Even though I said playfully, “This album is good” before, I rarely say so firmly that “I’m very confident with this”. But I can tell them very confidently about this album. “It’s very good (laughed).” Compared to the style I show them all this time, the music in this album has different feelings, and I worked so hard to prepare it between my overseas activities.
Q: It feels like whenever you release a solo album, it has a continuous story, starting from 'VOYAGER', 'YOUTH', until 'BORDERLINE'. What is the meaning of this album for you?
A: I asked a lot of questions to myself while preparing this album. I love rock music, and the band sounds a lot. I like to scream in singing, and being able to sing the genre you love so much is so fascinating. But, suddenly, I was hit with this kind of thought. “Am I just running away to the rock genre?” I came to think that maybe I’m actively avoiding the songs where I have to express emotions more delicately, the music that I have to pay attention to a lot, without even realizing it. That’s why I want to show that I came head-to-head with that music through this album.
Q: Monsta X celebrates their 11th anniversary this year. Is there any principle or anything from you that hasn’t changed for 11 years?
A: My personality to certainly end something that was started doesn’t change, whether it’s in the past or not. First, I really don’t like a vague ending in a human relationship. I’m the type of person who likes to put the full stop on something certainly. In the latest festival too, I keep appealing to the general audience to listen to my solo album later. I want to show people that I’m Kihyun, the solid idol when I perform as a team with Monsta X, and I’m the vocalist who has a clear world of my own when I perform as a solo. I still feel embarrassed and burdened to be called an “artist”. I just want to be remembered as a person who's the most honest when he sings and performs on stage. I put the sincerity in this ‘BORDERLINE’ album. I hope you’ll listen to it.
Q: Do you have any routine of your own to maintain your good condition even between the busy overseas and performance schedule?
A: My profession requires me to use my voice a lot, so I definitely have to bring a humidifier everywhere. The hotel room is very dry, so I always bring a travel folding humidifier that I can put into my suitcase. When I unfold it, it becomes very big, a 4-5L humidifier (laughed).
Q: How do you relieve your stress?
A: In the past, I became very sensitive before performing. I forced myself to match my strict standard, and I asked those around me to meet it as well. But in the end, I realized it made everyone tired. Now, in my 30s, even when I get stressed, I try not to hold onto it for too long. When the concert ends, I always have regrets. "I'm disappointed with this part, I could do better than that". When I feel like that, instead of forcing myself to sleep, I play games or watch movies to clear my mind. I read somewhere that it's better not to go to sleep right away on the day you feel so stressed out. That method works well for me.
Q: Among the interviews, the phrase "As someone enters their 30s, they have changed a lot" was so impressive. What kind of change did you experience at that time?
A: When I turned 30, I was forced into taking a break as the pandemic broke out. I never take a break since my debut, so at first I was very anxious because all my activities got halted, including the overseas schedules. But after looking back on that time, I realized that I don't have any hobbies and I don't have any memories except for my idol activities. Of course, the moments I spent together with monbebes were so precious and splendid, but when I look at the life of "Kihyun as an individual", there was nothing in there. I spent the hiatus that made me feel anxious reflecting on myself. I played games, I watched movies as many as I wanted, I learned surfing and wake surfing, and I experienced all the things I didn't try in my 20s. At the end, it became the turning point of my life
Q: ‘Cooking’ became the center of your change. What makes you start cooking?
A: I got so tired of delivering food (laughed). I lived in the dorm for a long time, and even after living on my own, I always ate delivery food, and one day I felt so sick of it. I got bored with the excessive seasonings, too. I thought, ‘Should I cook by myself?’ Then I ordered a Chinese knife when I was shopping online. That’s where it started. From then on, I made pizza, yuja pork back ribs, jjajang, and jjampong. Come to think of it, I remember I always helped my mom when she made pizza or donuts at home when I was a child. I think I learned naturally by watching her make it. I feel a lot of things after cooking by myself. We can get the food just by clicking one button on the delivery app, but after I tried to cook by myself, there was nothing easy, from preparing the ingredients to adjusting the heat. Cooking is something that needs a lot of care. Once I made stir-fried spicy pork roughly, but it tasted totally different even though I used the usual recipe. I realized the food that was made with love has a different taste.
Q: You cooked together with the actor Ryu Sooyoung and Yoon Kyungho in a variety program last year. What is the biggest thing you learned?
A: I felt the wall of the master of cooking from (Ryu) Sooyoung hyung (laughed). If my cooking just reached the ‘delicious’ standard, hyung’s cooking was built with ‘the layer of taste’. When I saw it, I thought ‘the master is indeed different’. Actually, rather than cooking technique, what I learned the most is ‘the habit’. When he cooks, he keeps cleaning and organizing his surroundings to make him be able to focus on cooking only. After the program ended, when I cook alone, my ability to give feedback changed. In the past, when I tasted my cooking, I didn’t know what was lacking, but now I'm sure what it is. “Oh, it’s not sour enough”, “I can put this a little bit more”.
Q: What food do you like?
A: Korean food. Not long ago, I finished my 3-week schedule overseas, went back to Korea, and did my comeback schedule right away for a few days, then headed to Sydney. From the first day we arrived in Sydney, I looked for kimchi jjigae. So my members teased me, “You just came from Korea, why did you search for Korean food again?” (laughed). I like food with beans in it. I like soybean milk, and for food, I like pureed soybean jjigae with a lot of ripe kimchi in it.
Q: If you get an opportunity to cook your fans something, what do you want to make?
A: I want to make ‘tiramisu’. It was one of the menus I learned in the cooking program last year. After the filming, I made it again at home not long ago because I thought I had forgotten the recipe already. But it was very successful. Especially in summer, if we freeze it for a little bit, it tastes like heaven. The balance between the frozen mascarpone cheese and the coffee scent is really perfect for summer. It’s the dessert everyone likes and enjoys, so I want to make it for my fans if I had the opportunity.
Q: The concept for the Telepathy Kitchen season 2 today is for fans to guess your favorite food by ‘telepathy’. Is there any moment when you think your fans know you really well?
A: I thought it’s natural for ‘chicken tteokbokki’ or ‘chicken’ to be the answer the most, but surprisingly it was ‘fried tofu rice ball’. At first, I was confused, ‘Why are there so many answer of friend tofu rice ball?’ But after thinking about it again, I often talked to them about the fried tofu rice ball. I'm the type of person who forgets things I spoke about easily, but Monbebes remember everything, even such a little thing like that. While looking at that, I felt so touched. “As expected, they’re people who know myself better than me” (laughed).
