The incident was reportedly triggered by a devastating financial loss: the man had invested his last $500 into a cryptocurrency memecoin, only to see it collapse in what’s known as a "rugpull"—a scam where developers hype up a project, collect investors’ money, and then abandon it, leaving the coin worthless. For this individual, that $500 appears to have been his final lifeline, and its loss pushed him to a breaking point.
