Pete Hegseth out here doing Olympic-level gymnastics to bring back Confederate general names on U.S. military bases.
"This is about restoring history and Army morale!"
Hegseth says, while twisting himself into knots to pretend it's not about Robert E. Lee & Co. who literally took up arms against America for slavery.
Pete defending renaming military bases after Confederate traitors: “We’re not erasing history!” Yeah, you’re just doing backflips to rebrand Robert E. Lee as “some other guy with the same name.”
Fort Liberty to Fort Bragg 2.0 :
Now with extra copium for morale.
Treason cosplay in the Pentagon.
Very Embarrassing.
And our story does begin with slavery because that’s where Blackness begins for us. That’s where this racialized caste that has defined our lives for 400 years began.
Our Black liberation struggle & what #ADOS have built here IN SPITE OF THAT is who we are.
And don’t say anything to me about drums.
It truly Boggles the mind how some kneegrows let melanated foreigners convince them their lineage is linked to Africa instead of trusting their own family’s oral history about always being here.
A 95-year-old elder says we was always in America. ✊🏿🇺🇸
If you can’t track it, you can’t trace it.
Ending demographic data collection is another effort to hide the truth of racism and give companies cover to avoid accountability. We cannot confront discrimination by refusing to measure it.
#RacialJustice#Accountability #BelovedCommunity
History has reduced MLK to a handful of hippie "peace and love" soundbites while deliberately obscuring his work as an laser focused analyst of American race and class dynamics.
Because my main goal is to improve the lives of ADOS people, not be Che Guevara. If that’s your job, go do it. If that’s your project, go work on it.
Capitalism exists today. Just because I want this country to pay a debt doesn’t mean I have to agree with the system. People harmed by slavery and Jim Crow etc shouldn’t have to wait for a revolution that may never happen to get what’s owed.
As are we. And when Native Americans got billions during COVID, I didn’t hear any opposition. Whites are sympathetic to the conditions of Native Americans in ways they never have been to descendants of chattel slavery.
And let’s be honest, this isn’t about how much reparations will cost. If that were the case, cost would be your main focus. You didn’t try to bring down the cost of reparations. You didn’t try to extend the time for payment over many years, thus reducing initial outlays/fubding. You didn’t do any of that.
Instead you’ve spent days trying to talk us out of any kind of specific advocacy. Even though the racial wealth gap spans generations. If this is the Left’s position, y’all deserve to lose. You will have earned it.
The overhaul must include a commitment to this policy because of its impact on our lives.
400 years of plunder has left us wealthless. And you can’t overhaul the system while maintaining a racialized caste.
Clyburn says CBC members have to take PAC money because many come from slavery & have no wealth.
Clyburn also opposes reparations.
You can’t make this stuff up. Black politics is in shambles.
