@mikeproverbs10 @coltongrypr @needGod_net Sigh, ok. Evidence: Acts 2:42 Only priests can break the bread that is, offer the sacrifice of Christ to God. The church didn't need to tell me to believe this one. I can easily see the obvious pattern throughout the Scriptures. God is very consistent. He makes it pretty easy.

@mikeproverbs10 @coltongrypr @needGod_net Was Peter not given the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven in Matt. 16? Is that not a position of authority? He didn't give them to John or any of the others; certainly not Judas. Another hierarchy. Peter was made the leader of the Church and he handed down the keys to his successors.

@mikeproverbs10 @coltongrypr @needGod_net No, He taught them how He was to be sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins. That is what the Catholic Mass is. Sacrifices to God can ONLY be performed by Priests. The Jewish Levitical priesthood was destroyed shortly after the Apostles were ordained by Christ. Coincidence?

@Realbhildy @TaylorRMarshall I'm asking why 5,000 people abandoned Him and all His teachings when just the night before, they accepted all His teachings to the point where they recognized Him as The Messiah and wanted Him to be their King? Which of His teachings was the "hard saying"? Can't be just obeying.

@Realbhildy @TaylorRMarshall Well, His teachings had literally over 5,000 people track Him across the sea for more teachings that morning, and by lunch they had all walked away from Him except His Apostles. So which one of His teachings made them reject Him on that day and not the day before?

How He wants to be worshipped is unchanging. My faith is in the constancy of God, His Word and methods. I don't change Him to suit me.

They BELIEVED this enough to literally track Him down across an entire sea. They saw the miracles, they BELIEVED. They still walked away and He let them.

@hookskat For the sanctification of others. Some of the holiest people had been subject to depression, oppression, possession or subjugation of some kind; either by supernatural demonic entities or just regular people who choose to do evil. Free will means no one is wasted.

How done a deal is it, if Jesus teaches this is possible?

They believe for a while and in times of temptation fall away. - Luke 8:13. If they had no free will, would God have let them fall away?
