Yung Miami went silent and kept shutting Jason Lee down after he asked if she still misses Diddy and when their relationship ended for her, after she revealed her song “Ride For You” was about her relationship situation with Diddy.
“Why does it matter”
“I don’t have an answer to that, i don’t know”
Jason Lee puts Yung Miami on the spot, asking if she misses JT. She responds, saying the situation is what it is and she’s moving forward. She adds that she’s willing to forgive JT and talk about everything. Jason Lee then tells Yung Miami that the split with JT is driven by jealousy because Yung Miami had the bigger high profile relationship, kids, and she’s very well put together.
“It almost seems like everything is driven by jealousy, you had the bigger high profile relationship, you have to beautiful children, you’re very well put together, you have genuine happiness. What i pray is that if for whatever your God tells you to comeback together that it comes back together out of love and mutual respect and not desperation”
Yung Miami speaks on how she created “Dear JT.” She says she wrote the song based on what she went through in the last two years, including the City Girls’ split, getting dropped from her label, and the Diddy incident. She says she wanted to express herself, tell her story, and put all of her emotions into the music. She adds that she didn’t write the song to get a response from JT, but to seek closure.
Jason Lee then asks Yung Miami whether JT was there for her when she went through the Diddy incident, despite Yung Miami holding it down for JT and the City Girls doing press tours for the group when JT was in jail. She responds, saying no. Jason Lee then asks why she was showing respect to JT on the song, and Yung Miami says that, at the end of the day, they’re childhood friends.
“I look at her like family, like this is a sister like a cousin to me and family you know they go through things they fall out but they’re still your family at the end of the day and that’s how I look at that situation
Stephanie Mills says she was very proud of Prince for writing “SLAVE” on his face and exposing the industry, along with Michael Jackson. She asks how you can be in the industry, know and see what goes on, but not say anything about it. She adds that’s why some people get on drugs.
“Brittany Spears, they just drove her crazy, Justin Bieber having the emotional problems he’s having because you realize all you are is a cash cow, no matter what, with family and everything, that’s a hard pill to swallow when you think these people love you”
Shannon Sharpe asks Stephanie Mills whether people not believing Michael Jackson had a skin condition, vitiligo, and saying he wanted to be white, had an impact on him. She says she thinks so, adding that Michael thought being around white people would make him a bigger star.
“I think so, myself i never saw the skin, i never say vitiligo. I don’t think Michael wanted to be white but i do think he loved white, he loved white women. He thought by being with white people and doing that made him a bigger star”
Stephanie Mills recalls the vicious criticism she received for playing Dorothy in The Wiz at just 17. She was called ugly, and people said Judy Garland should have gotten up out of her grave and slapped her.
“Clive Barnes who was a reporter at the New York Times, he wrote that and he said my breast was too big, and I was too dark, and i shouldn’t be playing Dorothy. I got alot of hate mails, but i didn’t pay attention to it”
Kirk Franklin and Tyrese Gibson have a fiery conversation about polygamy after DJ Montay explains his polygamous relationship dynamic with his wife and how people hate on him, trying to judge him with God based on his relationship. DJ Montay says there’s nowhere in the Bible or Qur’an that says polygamy is a sin. Kirk Franklin then asks about women getting offended by the establishment of polygamy, while Tyrese counters Franklin for asking too many questions about it, asking whether Franklin wants to be poly.
“So you wanna be poly, it seems you got alot of poly questions, are you curious about it because you interested in it”
“I got alot of poly questions because this is a new space that im just trying to learn and understand. We’re talking about things that are taboo, that are not traditional”
“Poly has been around as long as islam, it’s not normal for christian folks who live their lives according to one man one woman wife sanctuary, and if you think anything outside of your wife it’s infidelity, if you do anything outside your wife or your husband it’s infidelity. If you flirt or have any emotional relationship in some capacity it’s infidelity”
Laura Lynne Jackson explains how she discovered her abilities as a psychic medium as a child in a conversation with Khloé Kardashian. She also reveals that at age 11, she had a premonition that her grandfather was going to die, and he eventually passed away from leukemia two days later.
“as a child, I used to see people in colors and I'd know if they had like this kind of blue energy around them, living people. Like I'd go about my day-to-day stuff and I'd kind of look at somebody and it would almost be like this flash color on top of them. If it was blue, I would know, oh, they're really open and loving today. And I would have no hesitation about going over and talking to them.
But if they looked a little like red that day, I'd know, oh, something's going on. I'm going to avoid them. And I would feel what other people were feeling. I just thought that's the way the world worked. for everyone. It never occurred to me that I was different. But then at age 11, I had this sudden knowing one day, almost like this sense of panic and knowing that I needed to go be with my grandfather. And so my mom waited for me, let me come with her. And I spent this beautiful day with my grandfather And this panic that I had been feeling, it didn't stop till I was with him. And then when it was time to say goodbye, I told him how much I loved him. I hugged him. And that was the last time I ever saw him alive. Two days later, he got diagnosed with leukemia.”
