I always thought German Shepherds were the definition of high energy. Then I discovered Belgian Malinois.

Imagine a German Shepherd with the energy dial turned up to 11, an obsession with tennis balls, and a burning desire to accomplish 47 tasks before breakfast.

These dogs are brilliant, athletic, loyal, and absolutely relentless when they have a job to do.

But that intensity comes with a responsibility many people underestimate. A Belgian Malinois needs serious training, exercise, mental stimulation, and an owner who understands working dogs.

German Shepherds keep you busy.

Imagine getting into an Uber and immediately starting an argument with the driver before he’s even had a chance to do his job.

This woman starts complaining the minute she gets in, talking down to him, disrespecting him, and threatening him with a bad rating.

I’ve always believed that respect goes both ways. You’re paying for a ride, not the right to verbally abuse someone.

And here’s what some passengers seem to forget: Uber drivers rate their customers, too.

If I were driving, I’d seriously consider ending the ride. Nobody should have to put up with that kind of treatment just to earn a living.

I understand a priest needing time for the people he serves. But when millions of people are voluntarily listening to a Catholic priest talk about the supernatural, asking him to disappear for a year is a curious response.

Usually the challenge is getting people to listen to a sermon. This one came with an audience.

This Halloween, feed your kids like it’s Thanksgiving before sending them out trick-or-treating!

I’m serious. Give them a big, healthy dinner so they’re not heading out hungry and looking to eat every piece of candy they collect.

Think about how much sugar, corn syrup, artificial coloring, and other additives are packed into those little wrappers. Now multiply that by an entire bag of Halloween candy.

I’m not suggesting we take Halloween away from kids. Let them dress up, collect candy, and enjoy themselves. That’s part of being a kid.

But maybe if they leave the house with a full stomach, they’ll be more interested in collecting candy than eating half the bag before they get home.

Halloween should be fun. A little planning can make it healthier, too.

Dallas police tracked down a wanted man using license plate cameras. When officers called him out of his motel room, police say he came out pointing a rifle at them.

Raul Casas, 41, was wanted on four felony warrants tied to drugs, using a car without permission, and evading arrest. On October 14, a Flock license plate reader spotted a vehicle linked to him in Oak Cliff, and officers followed it to the Mustang Inn. When an officer ordered him outside, police say Casas walked out with a rifle aimed their way. The officer fired twice and hit him once. Police say Casas then grabbed a handgun, refused to drop it, and took his own life. Neither officer was hurt. Every warrant knock carries this risk, and most people never think about what officers walk into.

The five-second rule doesn’t apply to Uber Eats deliveries!

A man watches through his window as his Uber Eats driver drops his food on the ground. She picks it up, but some of it is still scattered on the sidewalk.

When he refuses the order and demands a refund, she insists she didn’t drop the food, the bag broke. Then she actually suggests they sue the bag company together!

And it gets better. She brings up the five-second rule, claiming the food wasn’t on the ground long enough to matter.

Are you kidding me? You’re delivering someone’s dinner, not picking up food off your own kitchen floor.

Accidents happen. Bags break. Nobody’s perfect. But once food hits the ground, you don’t argue with the customer about how many seconds it was there. You acknowledge what happened and help get the customer a refund or replacement.

The driver could have handled this professionally in thirty seconds. Instead, she turned a ruined dinner into a ridiculous argument.

I wouldn’t accept that food either. And I certainly wouldn’t pay for it.
