Incredibly grateful to HH Judge Donald Cryan, @JamesRoberts_ and Suzanne Kingston who will be providing training to our #FLAGS members on Conducting Remote Arbitration. 20th May 2020 by Zoom https://t.co/DZyAYP53aQ #arbitration#FamilyLaw
Great news. Children (Scotland) Bill amended so legal aid should be made available for alternative methods of dispute regulation. This was recommended by the Evans Strategic Review of Legal Aid as quicker and more cost effective, as well as reducing the burden on courts.
Delighted that in Stage 2 consideration of the Children (Scotland) Bill the Justice Committee have just voted in favour of extending legal aid to arbitration in child law disputes. Hoping this makes it to the statute book #accesstojustice
We would welcome legal aid being made available for FLAGS arbitration. With more than 50 trained arbitrators across Scotland, and as part of the Scottish civil justice system, we are well placed to help with the post COVID recovery and beyond #accesstojustice
Thank you @FLAGSarb for the training on Conducting Remote Arbitrations this afternoon. Pertinent and useful especially in these challenging times. Not feeling so remote @MacandMac28 now!

We have delegates from across Scotland- hugely experienced family lawyers who want to be able to give their clients more options to resolve disputes out of court
