I remember watching ARRIVAL in 2016 & thinking this dreck would be a great movie if Spielberg directed it. DISCLOSURE DAY vindicated me 10 years later.
Men to men:
Akui aja kalo kita emang problematik kok.
Kalopun lo gak pernah KS, minimal lo pernah ngediemin (enabler).
Mengakui bukan bikin kita jadi better/suci/ngapus dosa, tapi menurut gw itu langkah pertama untuk jadi a better man.
You can see this phenomenon everywhere among Indonesians:
- People believing that processed foods are universally unhealthy
- People believing that "improper spellings" implies incorrect arguments
- People believing that "herbal" stuff -> Universally safe / healthy
- People believing that overcharging is universally bad regardless of the device being involved
The list is endless. Those people basically learned something from some sources but they never asked themselves: What is the limit of this categorization? Is it just a rule of thumb? In what context can it be inaccurate? A significant amount of knowledge / categorization is assumed to be "universally applicable" unless explicitly stated otherwise. Nuance is assumed to be nonexistent unless it's elaborated
AI-generated photos/videos + blue checkmark hustle culture is a really bad combo. Abhorrent. Net negative for society. Thinking how large-scale, organized bad actors use the tech for propaganda makes me shiver. Weโre entering a new stage of the simulacrum.
Tau gak masalah di twitter itu apa? Banyak yang calling out urusan individual setara dengan menghujat pejabat publik yang gak becus mengurus publik. Tentu ada hal personal yang setara urusan politik, TAPI TIDAK SEMUANYA.
I've watched enough Naroditsky's speedrun videos to memorize that in the 1920's the hypermodernists were laughed at because they let their opponents control the center and instead used their pieces as snipers at a distance to chip away the center.
The Naroditsky family shares the sad news of Danielโs unexpected passing. Daniel was a talented chess player, educator, and beloved member of the chess community. We ask for privacy as the family grieves.
Setting up a workflow to work with LaTeX locally was the best decision I made this year so far (should've done it sooner, ik).
I would've been much more stressed if I'd still been using Overleaf for my thesis writing. No hate to them though, I still sync to Overleaf with git!
