A VPN and a residential proxy serve completely different purposes. Mullvad gives you a shared VPN exit IP for private browsing, while residential proxies use real residential IPs and are built for web scraping, automation, geo-targeting, and avoiding blocks.

Again, you keep saying we are not a “privacy-focused” service, but you have not identified three proxy providers that meet your own definition of privacy-focused.
The services you mentioned do not appear to be comparable alternatives:
- Samair is a public proxy-list website, rather than a managed residential proxy provider.
- TorGuard primarily offers VPN services and datacenter proxies, not residential proxy infrastructure.
- We could not find reliable information about a provider called “AnonProxyes,” so we cannot assess or compare its privacy practices, network type, or service quality.
There is a meaningful difference between a service that requires only an email address and one that requires identity documents, a face scan, and a credit card retained on file. Those are very different levels of data collection and account verification.
Residential proxy providers also have obligations that datacenter-proxy providers often do not. Residential IPs are more sensitive, less easily identified as proxies, and more likely to be targeted for misuse. Some operational information may therefore be necessary to protect the network, prevent abuse, investigate complaints, and keep the service available. That does not mean we require the same level of personal information as providers that demand government ID, biometric verification, and payment credentials stored indefinitely.
The relevant question is not whether a provider uses the vague label “privacy-focused.” It is what personal data it requires, what operational data it retains, why it is retained, and for how long.
If that feels too complicated, name at least one proxy provider that offers both rotating residential proxies and dedicated/static residential proxies with a genuine zero-log policy.
It is easy to claim, “You are not privacy-focused because you do not have a zero-log policy.” But when you look at the broader market, you will find that very few—if any—providers offer such a policy for residential proxy products.
Rather than broadly labelling a provider as not privacy-focused, it is more helpful to provide the full context. Otherwise, people may be misled by an oversimplified comparison.
Do you genuinely think FlameProxies’ privacy terms are comparable to those of a provider that requires KYC verification and keeps a credit card on file?
Proxies can provide network-level anonymity, but anonymity does not mean a provider must ignore clear abuse. That is why I don’t understand how “people associate proxies with anonymity” connects to your previous statement that our service is not privacy-focused.
We do not sell customer data or casually share it with third parties. At the same time, we will not knowingly allow clear fraud through the network. Do you believe a proxy provider should have a zero-log policy that prevents it from taking action against fraud, and why would that be a good thing?

If you mean we do not sell or casually share customer information with third parties, then yes, we take customer privacy seriously. But if you mean a provider should ignore clear fraud or allow users to abuse services like Stripe without intervention, then no, we are not that kind of service, and we are comfortable with that.
You are taking the website wording out of context. It refers to IP reputation and reducing unnecessary blocks for legitimate use cases such as ad verification, localization testing, QA, and authorized data collection. It is not a claim that we help anyone bypass payment-provider fraud controls or commit fraud.
It is also odd to treat high-quality residential IPs as a promise of immunity from abuse enforcement. We do not permit fraud. The account shown in the screenshot sent approximately 6 GB of traffic to Stripe in a fraudulent use case, so we restricted Stripe access for that specific account. Their proxy access was not removed and their account was not suspended. They could still use the service for legitimate, lawful use cases.
You are confusing privacy with immunity from abuse enforcement. We do not need, want, or collect irrelevant personal information. Like any responsible infrastructure provider, we monitor for clear abuse signals and act when there is credible evidence of fraud or illegal activity.
If someone is using proxies for legitimate privacy, testing, research, or business operations, that is fine. If they are sending gigabytes of traffic to Stripe for fraud, they should expect their access to be restricted.
