@koonimies I remember this! I loved both groups, so I was super excited. The thing is Block B wasn’t a dance group. They danced because that’s what Kpop groups do, but they didn’t do hard choreo like BTS. So that explains why it ended the way it did.
@zuri_malkia0@marangdream I think it was a let them eat cake situation. It was right after COVID, so many people were over worked and hadn’t spent much time with their families. And was bragging that she could do that. It just rubbed people the wrong way.
@ingeolz True, but JYPE seems to think talent is promotion enough just because it worked for their OG groups. They’re so bad at marketing their groups it’s infuriating. I’m glad when a group finally becomes big (like SKZ, Day6) but it further proves their point
@ChamuEnbm84371@agicheetah@archivedkcw No, honestly! It’s so bad for them. Even if they had no issues during promotions, promoting this long term could lead to such bad health issues. Even Haley William talks about regretting the head banging she used to do when she was younger.
@omonajeans@solmerv Not really. Some companies offer more creative freedom and control. SM is not one of those. They’ve gotten better recently. But they control their idols like property. Hybe and YG give their idols more creative freedom.
@Decks@mindoverweaknes Yep. First thought I had. The green card application takes a good minute too. Even if he had his green card she could always notify USCIS that she was duped and to rescind the green card.
Not me finding out someone I went to school with is having a movie made of them through a HW FAN ACCOUNT!
And that he was involved in a crypto scheme. Genuinely crazy small world.
Hudson Williams’s character in ‘The Altruists’ (called Duncan Rheingans‑Yoo) was the co-founder of Modulo Capital, a Crypto trading fund that received a $400 Million investment from FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried right before the cryptocurrency exchange collapsed. The series is based on the collapse of FTX.
Whilst Duncan isn’t accused of wrongdoing, investigators scrutinised the investment due to its timing and the fact that Modulo operated out of the same Bahamas resort complex where Sam and other FTX staff lived.
Hudson Williams was booked for the role pre-“Heated Rivalry” and filmed his scenes last year.
@LottiesxWorld Does anyone remember that one BTS concert that had a bomb squad check out the venue due to “bomb” threats, when it was actually just ARMY talking about the light stick?
