After the 1940 defeat and armistice, the Nazis (and Vichy collaborators in the south) cracked down hard:
• They put up posters in towns demanding civilians surrender all firearms within 24 hours — or face the death penalty. Executions happened for non-compliance.
• They used the existing French police registration records from 1935 to identify and target gun owners. Searches were common.
• Possession of weapons by civilians was treated as a serious threat to control. This was standard Nazi policy across occupied Europe to prevent uprisings.

If there were a significant armed citizenry the French just might have been able to change the tide of the war in their country without so many of our young men having to die on those bloody beaches! You will Not disarm Virginians!! We will not let that happen!

@GunOwners Well, (said with sadness) at least we know for sure that the VSP can not be relied on to support 2A rights in VA..despite what grandiose language they post seemingly supportive of 2A! They are lock step with whatever the Gov tells them to do.
