Upon entering the back bedroom, officers discovered a man, later identified as Matthew James Pausche, actively hovering over a highly distressed woman to the floor alongside a bed.

The situation escalated instantly as officers moved into the tight space, shouting commands for Pausche to get away from the woman and put his hands behind his back.

Recognizing the high volatility of the situation and the immediate threat to the victim, an officer drew a taser, keeping it aimed and ready to deploy if the suspect resisted.

Facing the immediate threat of less-lethal force, Pausche ultimately complied with the officers' orders, allowing himself to be handcuffed and moved out of the residence without the taser ever needing to be fired.

​Once secured in the back of a squad car, Pausche was read his Miranda rights. When questioned by officers about what had transpired inside the home, his compliance ended entirely. He declined to offer any details, simply stating: "I got nothing to say to you."

While the suspect remained silent, the physical evidence spoke volumes. The woman suffered visible injur!es from the ass@ult.

​While being treated by paramedics on the scene, she was noticeably shaken and consumed by intense fear, telling responding officers, "He's gonna k!ll me." In a heartbreaking moment captured on camera, she also expressed terror to the deputies about her own past—mentioning she was a convicted felon and feared getting into trouble.

Officers quickly reassured her that she was the v*ctim and faced no legal jeopardy. Court and medical documentation later noted that the severity of her injur!es required immediate evaluation for potential fr@ctures.

Following the incident, Matthew Pausche was booked and hit with multiple criminal charges, including:
