@DonMiami3@MacroEdgeRes If you buy day passes early, before the season begins, you can still get it under $100. But I agree these prices suck. Don't even think going into a mountain house. It's 2 times more expensive than at the airport.
I see it in my neighborhood all the time.
This is like a heartbeat, goes up and down to pretend that the patient is alive :D
But if you think about it, this is just a marketing trick:
- on redfin/zillow/realtor it bumps up the % of homes with prices increased, bumps them up in the list.
- as Melody said, it creates additional FOMO for the buyers under contract. "price just went up 10%, hurry up or be priced out"
- make it so that comparable builds don't loose value on paper. and they can suddenly do a 10-20% fire sale on those as well. they'll get the appraisal at the selling price anyways, right? :)
- list goes on and on.
