(Flatts) The first test tournament was a success! Aside from a few visual bugs and some issues with Chrome, things went well. The tournament took a total of 2 hours. Thanks to those who played!
(Flatts) Forgot to shower today but I did finish the card view including affiliate links to https://t.co/kbpebevWZH. I'm waiting on @TCGplayer to get back to me so I can include them too. #MagicRivals
This weekend we hope to finish a chat system that allows the players to chat with the organizer. (They can already chat with other players.) With these two features, Discord or other chat services will not be needed to run online tournaments.
This morning we added notifications to the Player Control. Now, organizers can send dismissable notifications to all players. Even if a player doesn't have a browser open when the notification is sent, they will see the notification whenever they next open the Player Controller.
Players can submit their decklist, submit their results, see their opponent's decklist, and chat with their opponent through the Player Controller. We are striving to make MagicRivals the only resource players and organizers need to run MTG tournaments! #MagicRivals
What is #MagicRivals?
MagicRivals is an online platform for coordination and media coverage of in-person and online Magic: the Gathering tournaments. MagicRivals will support Swiss format & bracketed tournaments, single player & team tournaments, and community-created leagues.
Each account has their own profile page so fans can keep up-to-date on their favorite players. Every submitted decklist will be publicly viewable once the tournament has ended. #MagicRivals
#MagicRivals could have gone live months ago, but we want to make sure that the site is good and ready. Having this feedback form will result in more/better feedback from the first pre-alpha tournament. We are very interested in all feedback you have. What do you want to see?
@firamain Nowhere else are results, standings, and decklist directly and automatically tied to matches. Now we can see stats like win percentage, rank of win percentage globally, win percentages with specific archetypes, win percentages against specific other players, and so much more.
Every player will have their own profile page which automatically embeds their Twitch stream & lists recent results & decklists. This version is a pre-alpha. The goal is to give players and teams a landing page for their friends and fans with LOTS OF STATS. #MagicRivals
The player controller is 100% done, including result entry, player chat, decklist submission, etc. Getting very close to running the first prototype #magicarena tournament. #MagicRivals
Have been hard at work getting the platform ready for the first prototype tournament and I'm happy with the direction the user interface is going. (This isn't a mockup. This is live data.) #mtg#MTGArena
Neat feature: Animated gifs!
Our #mtgarena tournament management software project is called https://t.co/Ln6fO7agkP and it is now open source. https://t.co/mlsbreyuqY #opensource#mtg
If it’s not clear, the platform we’re working on is designed to be capable of running several Grand Prix sized Arena tournaments at the same time several times a day, you know, if people want to do that sort of thing.
Its a little clunky and requires quite a bit of work still yet, but the player controller page is starting to come together!
(Looking for .Net & web devs, all experience levels, who want to contribute)
We @flattsware are creating a brand new tournament management and coverage platform for #MTG & #MTGArena which will provide turn-key online tournaments for organizers and a rich experience for viewers. Follow us for updates! #MythicInvitational#PAXEast
