I am proud to announce local businesswoman Rebecca Shepherd as our Restore Britain candidate for the Makerfield constituency.
Rebecca has spent most of her adult life living and working in the Wigan borough, where she has built and run her own small business. Through that experience, she understands first-hand the pressures facing local businesses and working people across the community.
Like so many residents, Rebecca has seen the growing impact of rising costs, increasing legislation, red tape, and bureaucracy, which continue to make everyday life more challenging for ordinary people trying to work hard, support their families, and stay afloat.
Put simply - she understands what local men and women are going through.
This is the type of person we need in politics. Not career politicians, but genuine people with real life experience.
Rebecca is particularly passionate about improving SEND access and support across the local area. Her interest in SEND-friendly activities comes through the work she does within her Community Interest Company, where she has seen first-hand the importance of opportunities, practical support, and activities for people with additional needs.
Rebecca is standing for Makerfield because she believes local people deserve honest representation, accountability, and someone prepared to fight for the interests of the community rather than their own political careers.
I look forward to campaigning with Rebecca, and putting forward Restore Britain’s positive vision for the Makerfield constituency.
Rupert Lowe,
Restore Britain Leader
Our local priorities:
Safer streets for women and girls - tackling the gangs of foreign men who harass and intimidate local women and girls in Ashton, and elsewhere across the constituency and the Wigan Borough.
Fight reckless overdevelopment in areas including South Hindley, and Winstanley - roads, dentists and GPs must come before responsible house building provided for local families.
Improved SEND support for those in genuine need - we must avoid overdiagnosis, but also provide proper investment to those who need it. Including a constituency-wide investment programme for the improvement and maintenance of children’s playgrounds.
Tackle anti-social behaviour in Ashton and elsewhere - no-nonsense, visible policing to crack down on criminal activity in our towns. Parents too must be held responsible for what their children are inflicting on the community. We say enough is enough.
Restore our high streets - push for free car parking to drive footfall, abolish business rates to reinvigorate our town centres and deliver a full investigation into the explosion of vape shops and Turkish barbers for trading standards/immigration non-compliance.
We are in this to win it.
Make sure everyone you know in Makerfield sees this clip from September 2025. Burnham saying he will put the UK back in the EU.

Restore Britain will be standing a candidate in the Makerfield by-election.
There is overwhelming demand from our local members to do so, and I entirely agree.
Our campaign has already started, and we aim to win thousands and thousands of votes.
More news very soon.
🚨 Helen Whately has just said what every hard-working taxpayer in “Alarm Clock Britain” has been screaming for years — and she’s absolutely right.
“Alarm Clock Britain is sick of paying out for Benefits Street.”
Why on earth would anyone drag themselves out of bed at dawn, pay crippling taxes, energy bills and rents, just to watch others rake in £30,000, £40,000 or even £60,000 a year completely tax-free on benefits? The incentives are completely broken. Work doesn’t pay. The system rewards staying home while punishing the grafters who keep this country afloat.
But let’s be brutally honest — this isn’t just Keir Starmer’s mess. The Tories had 14 years in power to smash the welfare trap and the mass-migration time-bomb that supercharged it, and they did next to nothing. Now under Labour the benefits bill is exploding, the housing crisis is swallowing entire towns, and native British families are last in every queue while foreign nationals and their families jump straight to the front.
This is two-tier welfare in full disgusting view: British pensioners choosing between heating and eating, British kids priced out of homes their grandparents built, British workers taxed to the eyeballs — all to subsidise a growing underclass and the demographic replacement experiment both parties enabled for decades. Hotels packed with illegal arrivals. Council lists flooded by foreign-born households. And a benefits system that actively disincentivises work for far too many.
The hypocrisy stinks even more coming from MPs like Helen Whately herself — happily claiming £39,000 a year in taxpayer-funded London rent on top of her six-figure salary and hundreds of thousands in expenses. The political class lectures us about “scroungers” while living very comfortably on public money themselves.
The silent majority has had enough of being treated like cash machines for everyone except ourselves.
We demand:
✅ A radical welfare overhaul — British people and British contributors first. Strict work requirements, time limits for able-bodied claimants, and a hard benefits cap that actually means something.
✅ An immediate end to benefits for illegal migrants, failed asylum seekers and anyone who hasn’t contributed.
✅ Mass deportations for foreign nationals living off the British taxpayer.
✅ A total halt to non-essential immigration until the welfare, housing and NHS crises are fixed.
✅ Real politicians who finally put Alarm Clock Britain — the hard-working backbone of this country — first, not globalist virtue-signalling and open borders.
Enough is enough. The current system isn’t broken by accident — it’s broken by design.
The Tories failed. Labour is making it catastrophic. Only real change will sort it.
Restore Britain.
Britain first — always.
🚨 MPs’ renting scandal just went nuclear — and the snout-in-the-trough champion of the week is none other than Labour’s own Deputy Leader, Lucy Powell.
It’s now been exposed that a whole string of MPs have been renting rooms and entire homes to each other at full taxpayer expense. Powell raked in over £30,000 last year alone by renting out a room to another MP. Taxpayer-funded second homes, taxpayer-funded rents flowing straight into fellow MPs’ pockets — a cosy little Westminster property scam that makes the old expenses scandal look like pocket change.
This is the same Labour Party that lectures working Brits about “fairness”, “austerity” and “paying your share” while their own elite treat Parliament like a private members’ club with an unlimited bar tab on your dime. While British families are crushed by sky-high rents, energy bills and taxes to fund this circus, Labour insiders are quietly lining their nests by renting to one another — all perfectly “within the rules,” of course. Because in two-tier Britain, the rules are written by the grifters for the grifters.
Lucy Powell isn’t some backbencher caught with her hand in the till. She’s the Deputy Leader. The second most senior figure in Starmer’s government. The same government that’s busy hiking your taxes, slashing services and telling you to tighten your belt while they play Monopoly with public money.
This isn’t a mistake.
This isn’t an oversight.
This is systemic corruption dressed up as “MP accommodation.”
The silent majority has had enough of these champagne socialists treating the British taxpayer like a bottomless ATM. We pay for their second homes, their rents, their expenses — while our own kids can’t get on the housing ladder and pensioners choose between heating and eating.
We demand:
✅ Immediate full public audit of every MP’s property dealings and expenses — names, amounts, everything.
✅ Resignations for anyone caught in this rental racket — starting with Lucy Powell.
✅ A complete overhaul of the MPs’ expenses system — no more second homes, no more self-dealing, no more pigs at the trough.
✅ Real consequences for the entitled elite who think the rules don’t apply to them.
Labour isn’t just failing Britain.
It’s looting it — one taxpayer-funded rental agreement at a time.
Starmer Out.
Powell Out.
The whole rotten Westminster cartel out.
The British people are watching. And this time we’re not forgetting.

It’s Friday 13th and more illegals are
ferried into our nation paid for by the taxpayer. They’ll be sleeping in a 4 star hotel eating free food tonight.
All fleeing from war-torn France.
This farce has to stop now! RT if agree. #IAmBritish🇬🇧
Another vile Pakistani Muslim rape gang has just been convicted today for abusing 2 English children in Rochdale.
These filth pimped the vulnerable girls out, raping them in filthy buildings and cars.
Some of them have previous convictions for abusing other English children.
Wherever they are, they're doing exactly the same revolting things to our children.
Deport the lot, their families, why put our children in harms way for the sake of DIEversity? Get them out.
Walk down almost any high street in England. There’s a vape shop, run by a foreign man who can barely speak English. There’s a Turkish barber, run by a foreign man who can barely speak English. There’s an ‘asian’ grocery store, run by a foreign man who can barely speak English.
Character, gone. Community, gone. Independent British shops, mostly wiped away.
It just doesn’t feel like England anymore.
Does all of this make our country richer? It certainly doesn’t feel like it, walking through the decaying heart of almost every town in the country.
The quiet, relentless erosion of community by the sheer scale and pace of change imposed from above - the sense that we were one nation, one people. It all just feels gone.
When gangs of foreign men loiter on street corners, shouting in their own language, drinking and spitting. Are we supposed to just accept that as normal? Is that now what our country is? Women feeling intimidated in their own towns?
Because I don’t like it. It did not used to be like this. It’s not England. And it doesn’t have to be like this.
The change that has been imposed on us? It is not permanent. It is not irreversible. It is not inevitable.
Before any of that can happen, we need to get our politicians to even begin to discuss these issues - honestly, openly and without fear. Labour, Reform, Conservative. All scared of their own shadows, terrified of being called racist by an establishment media based in leafy Surrey towns that are yet to be enriched by all of this wonderful immigration.
I am so past caring about what these people think. We deserve to feel at home in the towns that our ancestors built. Not unsafe, not intimidated, not unwelcome.
I’ve had enough of it. The British people have had enough of it.
It’s time the rest of Westminster caught up.
No its not, there should be zero in Charge of running Britain there’re all for themselves look what a shite job they have made of their own home countries, can’t make it by themselves so have to come and scavenge mine losers
Is it racist to say we have too many Muslims in positions of power running our country?
The Labour party has loads, including the worst, Sadiq Khan. Our christian values are being dissolved to make way for Islam!
so i ask the question, is it racist to think that???
