I would argue really the last 110 years or so. This all began with the rise of the Progressive movement in the early 20th century. And we need to have a moment of national honesty about what that movement was really about. It wasn't about clean food or suffrage. Read the early Progressives like Wilson and Goodnow, et al. Progressives hated the Constitution. They hated the separation of powers. They hated almost everything about the Founders' vision for this country and the machinery of the republic (the diffusion of power was the greatest protector of our rights, not some list of enumerated rights that can be seen as aspirational or suggestions by a all-powerful state). The Progressives, not on a violent coup or revolution, for all intents and purposes, overthrew the original intent of the Founders' Constitution. It was absolutely intentional and it was absolutely successful. What I'm saying is that we had a silent revolution that hollowed out the Republic and really overthrew its essence and for pretty much all of the 20th century the country was deceived by Progressive "history" and "historians" who whitewashed what took place. They replaced representative government with the Rule of the Bureaucrat. They separated out an unelected bureaucracy to do the real governing, with politics and elections and the idea of representative democracy more of side show to act as an opiate for the masses; you're being ruled, not governed. That system, the Administrative State, is still mostly in place. What concerns me is that people think we're winning. Sure, we're having a moment, to be clear, a great moment with Trump's second term. But we haven't won. Not even close. We win when the Administrative State is overthrown and we restore the Republic and that, my friends, is a long ways off and in no way is guaranteed.
Happy Birthday, Chevy Chase... or is that Nugent, Ted Nugent... or maybe Dr Rosenpenis.
Forget it. I need a Bloody Mary, a steak sandwich, and a steak sandwich... oh, and put it on the Underhill's bill.
Targeting blue-state pork isnโt โstealingโโitโs prioritizing taxpayer dollars. The Hudson Tunnel and Second Avenue Subway have burned billions with endless delays and DEI-driven bloat. Redirecting funds to projects that deliver actual results isnโt corruptionโitโs accountability.
If D.C. wants to cry foul, maybe start by explaining why infrastructure costs here are triple Europeโs.
Audit the waste, cut the red tape, and build.
Note: there's not one prominent Leftist anywhere in the West doing what Charlie Kirk did, i.e. issuing an open debate challenge to all comers and saying "Here's my view, I invite you to try and prove me wrong". None of them are willing to subject their views to that scrutiny.
