My parents. I am their panganay. We’re from Bulacan. They are the same parents who was hesitant to let me study in Manila, esp in UP noon, dahil na rin sa mga nakakatakot na news about college students, mga rally at iba pa. (kaya nag ibang Uni ako), kasi delikado daw at baka daw puro rally and protesta ang atupagin ko. Note that I am also the first one na mag college sa Manila among my cousins, kaya gets naman kaya medyo hestitant ang lahat.

But yesterday, sila ang nagyaya sakin sa Luneta at sa EDSA. Hindi na sila bata, mga senior citizen na. Originally, I was planning to go with my friends, pero eto ako, mas piniling samahan sila sa laban na to.

For years, I saw how my dad struggled to pay our tuition, kasi kahit gaano kataas ang pwesto at sweldo nya sa trabaho, mas lamang pa rin ang tax na binabayaran nya. Tapos ninanakaw lang pala ng mga walanghiya! 💀
