Wrecklessness by us the political CLASS IN KENYA is clearly part of our BEHAVIOUR and IT'S REGRETTABLE. Hassan Omari is NOT alone. And it's across the Ranks, Unfortunately. We MUST style up and be a good example to Society.
Kaikai: I am just thinking of the irony that we deployed police officers to Haiti to fight gangs and we have a gang-like deployment in Othaya, Nyeri, to attack a church, regardless of who was in there, whether the target was a political figure in the name of Rigathi Gachagua. This is irresponsible. If our police officers are sent to a church to sort out a political matter, the same police officers are expected to carry out heavy duties of securing this country #CitizenNewsGang @LinusKaikai
Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) remain central to delivering industry-responsive skills that meet the needs of the labour market. In this context, I held a courtesy engagement with Prof. Michele Filippo Fontefrancesco of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milano Italy to explore potential areas of institutional partnership within the TVET space.
Discussions explored practical collaboration opportunities aimed at strengthening the TVET ecosystem. The engagement also provided an opportunity to jointly reflect on existing training needs and consider possible approaches to building TVET trainers capacity across priority sectors for Kenya.
Today, I had the honour of officiating the 14th Graduation Ceremony of the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) a significant milestone in the institution’s continued commitment to delivering quality technical and vocational education.
The state department for TVET commends RVTTI for its consistent efforts in advancing Competency Based Education and strengthening industry linkages through the Dual Training model, which remains instrumental in bridging the gap between training and employability.
During the visit, I also commissioned a state of the art Fashion and Design workshop under the Department of Hospitality and Institutional Management. This new facility will enhance hands on, industry-relevant learning for trainees pursuing careers in the creative economy.
To the graduating class, I extended my heartfelt congratulations and encouraged them to step boldly into the world of work innovative, confident and solutions-driven.
VALIDATION OF NYOTA PROJECT VULNERABLE AND MARGINALIZED GROUPS PLANS (VMGPs)
The NYOTA Project Management Unit (PMU) under the State Department for Youth Affairs and the Creative Economy has successfully conducted a validation exercise for the Vulnerable and Marginalised Groups Plans (VMGPs).
The session brought together recognised representatives from VMG communities including Chairpersons, Women Representatives, Youth Representatives, and Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) drawn from Laikipia, Isiolo, Marsabit, and Samburu Counties.
The exercise aims to ensure inclusivity, community ownership, and alignment of the project with the unique needs and aspirations of vulnerable and marginalised groups in the targeted regions.
