"So many people in our family and his friends and wider community are affected by the ripple effect of his going missing. There is a name for this – it is ambiguous loss. If only he understood the dangers. If only we all had.” - Valerie Nettles, Damien's Mother.
This week is Damien Nettles' birthday. His loved ones face another year on, what should be a day of celebration, without him. Damien was 16 when he went missing from #Cowes, #IsleOfWigh,t on 02/11/1996.
Over the years, Valerie has used her heartbreak to not only continue to search for her son, but to also advocate for other families and loved ones of missing young people.
"We have not given up on finding out what happened to Damien" - Valerie Nettles.
