….a residue, primarily composed of magnesium salts was observed in multiple locations (fuel filter, fuel metering valve [FMV] spool, fuel splitting valve [FSV] spool, variable bleed valve [VBV] spool and high pressure turbine [HPT] active clearance control

Engine RPM fell below idle during the descent at an altitude of about 16,000 ft for 8 seconds. The No 2 engine then fell below idle too for 81 seconds. The aircraft safely landed at Kansai International less than 30 minutes later.
