This weekend's Speaker Series featured Gary Power Jr. shared details about his fathers espionage role whose Central Intelligence Agency Lockheed U-2 spy plane was shot down while flying a reconnaissance mission in Soviet Union airspace, causing the 1960 U-2 incident.

Today marks the 75th anniversary of commercial operations at LAX, first commercial flights started on December 9, 1946.

This stylish uniform for Pelita Air is from 1976 and was donated to the museum by Mary Douglass. She wore it on Boeing 707’s, 720’s and 727’s on the Jakarta, Indonesia to Singapore routes.
