Tough to work on your business when your friends are going out.
When you work weekends and they are having fun.
Remember, your fun is on the way.
Freedom to do what you want. That is a successful life.
Marketing is telling people what you offer and why they should buy it.
Think about a friend telling you about something new they bought. Their advice is marketing. You trust your friend, so you trust their opinion.
Your health allows you to use the most precious resource in the universe, time, to the full.
Take control of it today.
Your 90-year-old self will thank you.
Take control of your own health.
Everyone’s advice is what worked for them but we are all experiments of one.
You need to take control of your own health.
Today.
Life is in the doing. Active-ity.
Creating yourself, growing, learning. These are activities. Not static.
Nothing just comes to you. Things happen when you make them happen.
Start with finding the answer to the question: “what do I want?”
Life starts when you know the answer.
How to re-train your brain to focus
•Find a mindfulness practice that suits you (e.g., meditation, nature walks).
•Spend time unplugged from devices.
•Engage in social interaction to balance screen time.
Marketing is pretty simple.
When you think about it, away from all the social media tricks and advice and technology and AI, you have something to sell, and you need people to buy it.
Marketing is the space between the two.
Being in control of your own life is the most valuable, most important, most fulfilling thing you could ever do.
Autonomy, independence, freedom, in control of your own time.
Call it what you will. It’s one of the two most important things in life.
The other is your health.
People will make their own conclusions about what you offer.
People perceive your offer in a certain way, because of the collection of perceptions they have about you and what you offer.
The space between what you offer and what people think about it.
This is branding
I believe in going through life with as few things as possible, in travelling light. Why use two things when one will do? The more versatile something is, the better. Otherwise, it is just clutter. Clutter and chaos steal mind space and energy.
When faced with a complicated issue, I often find it helpful to step back and simplify it to its fundamental principles.
This technique helps tackle any intricate subject, challenging conversation, or difficult situation.
The most important task is the one you're currently working on. Don't let future worries distract you.
Question: What is the one thing you have been putting off that you should be working on?
Marketing is straightforward. The simplest things still work despite the massive amount of digital tools that are supposed to help.
Marketing is not confusing. To grow your business, you need to talk to people. In-person or not.
Look for principles not flashy shortcuts.
How to save a difficult conversation:
•Practice breathwork techniques to manage stress.
•Consider the situation from the other person's perspective.
•Actively listen to others in conversations.
Find a mindfulness practice that works for you. Not everyone can sit cross-legged for hours.
Spend time in nature, or get a friend to join you for regular exercise, yoga, or even a walk.
Unplug from your devices. Time away from screens is a great way to cultivate your focus.
