Being the second best place to party in that part of Texas is cool until you realize the majority of the state lives and parties east of there.

Lubbock is the the second most populous city west of San Antonio (barely cracking 250k) if you draw a vertical line so there's no competition. El Paso is the most populous and even by your own admission it's a tossup at best.

PUF is almost fully funded by leases to oil&gas companies and would exist irrespective of the city of Lubbock's existence. It was literally put out there because no one wanted to fucking live there 😂
