So that’s Malen, Sancho, Barrenechea, Luiz, Elliott, Barry, some of the younger lads and now Dobbin off the books, maybe Barkley soon - probably others I’ve forgotten/haven’t noticed, but (some) people are immediately panicking or speculating Manzambi means Rogers is off.
Let the club move their chess pieces. They know more than us and some faceless ITK about the club’s finances. 🤷♀️
If he leaves, he leaves (don’t want him to).. But it won’t be a panicked reduced fee sale like certain club’s fans think they can swindle.
🚨⚠️ OFFICIAL: Belgian Federation statement on Folarin Balogun red card case, saying they are “astonished”.
“The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) is astonished by FIFA's decision to declare suspended United States player Folarin Balogun eligible to play in the USA–Belgium match on Monday, 6 July at 5:00 p.m. (Seattle time).
FIFA bases its decision on Article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
This provision states that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee may decide to suspend the enforcement of a previously imposed disciplinary sanction.
However, Article 66.4 of the same FIFA Disciplinary Code clearly provides that a red card (sending-off) automatically results in a suspension for the team's next match, as has been the case for all previous red cards issued during this FIFA World Cup.
Furthermore, and irrespective of the above, the decision is in direct contradiction with the provisions of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Competition Regulations, as set out in Article 10.5:
"If a player or team official is sent off as a result of a direct or indirect red card (second caution), they will automatically be suspended from their team's subsequent match. In addition, further sanctions may be imposed.”
The automatic nature of such a suspension was also explicitly reaffirmed in FIFA World Cup 2026 Circular No. 16, which was distributed to all participating member associations on 12 May 2026.
The same rule is reiterated at every FIFA World Cup 2026 Match Coordination Meeting prior to each match and is included in all FIFA World Cup 2026 workshop presentations.
❗️In order to safeguard the legitimate rights of all participating teams and to protect the fundamental principles of fair play in our sport, both at this FIFA World Cup and at future editions of the tournament, the RBFA is investigating all potential options.”
I have a lot of respect for Harvey Elliott.
A transfer that didn’t work out
A season of his career gone.
Many “unused sub” games.
Yet not once did he throw his toys out. No sulks.
Wednesday night he celebrated, joked & was one of the team.
Fair play Harvey. 👏🏼👏🏼

4 points clear in 5th with two games to go… champions league qualification within our grasp…
A first European final for 44 years to look forward to…
And all I’m reading is negative comments hammering us..
No one said it was going to be easy, but for gods sake !!!!!
I know Villa listen to supporters generally after a few years of a strained relationship as the club grows and evolves into a fit for purpose 21st century club.
So I'd hope that the club would consider opening Villa Park, big screen, music and celebrate the club on the day of the Final.
Get a couple of local bands, a rousing MC, charge £10 with a free drink or two, and make Villans who can't go to Istanbul feel involved. It's their day too.
Aged 11 i wouldn't have been able to afford to go to Rotterdam but I could have gone to VP and been very excited indeed.
Lots of families who already go to games and are financially stretched deserve to feel the magic, and those kids are the future of our club. Some fireworks, music, pop and crisps for a quid, a beer for the same and all of a sudden we make the most important people at our club who can't go to Istanbul, feel a part of the pride.
Hope @AVFCOfficial gives it a little thought, I'm seeing a huge appetite for it on here.
Villans
Only one Villa team have broken the glass ceiling in our European history, we know their names, immortal in the history of our great club.
Many of us have tried and failed to to bring a magical European trophy back to Villa Park.
I remember that night against Atletico Madrid, glorious failure on the night. I've never heard Villa Park so loud. The Holte lead the way, and young Villans in K3, K4, K5, you have the chance to do something special and louder. You can and you must.
Make this grand old stadium stand for 90 minutes and never relent for one damn second.
But the Holte End is one fourth of the jigsaw.
Trinity. We need you.
North. We need you.
Witton (sorry Doug). We need you.
Bayern Munich. Beaten.
PSG. Beaten.
Atletico Madrid. Beaten.
Anderlecht. Beaten.
Athletic Bilbao. Beaten.
Barcelona. Beaten.
Inter Milan. Beaten.
Ajax. Beaten.
Celtic. Beaten.
A handful of clubs have those scalps.
The special sauce in every win? You, Villans. YOU.
Every one of those wins, the noise rivaled anywhere at any time.
We face admirable foe and a special football club that I know very well. A club who believed in miracles and miracles came true for them.
Our players need our voices, our songs, our heart and soul on Thursday. Every stand. Every Villan, old or young.
Remember when you walked into Villa Park for the first time? The joy, the tears, the pride, holding the hand of your Mom or Dad or excitedly shephereded in by your big brother or sister or best mate?
Let the memory of them be your guide tomorrow night.
Sing for Spinksy, Birchy, Alan McInally, for Gary Shaw, for Brian Little, for Paul McGrath and for John McGinn.
To the players and staff, we know how good you are, and we ALL want you to walk into the pantheon of greats that adorn our halls.
As someone once said..
"The lows just make the highs higher. We are at the heart of English football, we have a majestic name, a decorated past, we serve as a shining light among our peers, we are Aston Villa ".
I believe.
We believe.
Villa believes.
UP THE FUCKING EUROPEAN VILLA!!!!
The FA Cup should NEVER:
- Have semi-finals at Wembley
- Play the final before the end of the Prem season
- Broadcast on anything but the BBC & ITV
🚨Wins vs Premier League sides this year:
Southampton - 2 (don't play in the Prem)
Tottenham - 0 (play every week in the Prem)
This is football heritage
We have been made aware of a distressing image doing the rounds today, suggesting Tottenham have beaten us 3-1.
This has clearly been photoshopped, and we will be taking this up with the relevant authorities.
Even we'd beat Spurs...
Unai Emery's programme notes: "If we relax on the field or in the stands we won't be able to continue their wonderful spell. That's why I remind you: THIS MATCH IS CRUCIAL. We must put all our effort into keeping the energy and the focus."
