The ore here was not practically accessible using bronze age technology, hence why all Nordic Bronze Age copper was imported.

At mines like the Great Orme, the azurite and malachite was in soft limestone.

Here the copper was bound up in much harder matrices, requiring early modern technology to process.

If they had been able to exploit it in the bronze age then the Nordic bronze age would have been orders of magnitude more powerful. The ruler who controlled it would have been richer than Agamemnon, like a Ramesses of the north.
