An American is chosen as pope and U.S. Catholics scramble to look up his political affiliation in order to define his faith perspectives. Maybe we should allow our faith to define our political priorities instead. 🤦♂️
Even after factoring in the President's personality and tendency to say wild things with zero shame, such outlandish and aggressive claims leave us stunned by their insanity.
We’d like to thank @CNN for taking the time to broadcast two of the strongest possible arguments in favor of electoral reform and alternative voices in American politics.
I continue to think the greatest risk of A(S|G)I is not that it will actually be achieved, but the dream of it being achieved.
Magic isn't real, but the dream of magic is real and leads to real addiction, real exploitation, and violation of the dignity of persons and creation.
I may have done my most @StrongTowns thing ever yesterday. On the final day of a charrette in a long-disinvested place, I put up a couple boards of ideas people could adopt as their own to help make their town stronger & healthier. Let locals live strong and healthy. Pick one:
This is sick. Irremediable? No one is beyond hope. “What does it mean for the role of the physician, as healer, as bringer of hope, to be offering death?” https://t.co/m9CRkAd5Ld
“Who of us would want to celebrate Christmas correctly? Who will finally lay at the manger all power, all honor, all reputation, all vanity, all pride, and all selfishness? Who is content to be lowly and to let God alone be high?”

Inspired by a conversation with @running_a_fever about religion, tradition and triangles. 3 songs by him in this video, sound design by niceaunties. Choir sounds made in #suno .
Part 1 of 2 collab videos.
Sprung from the same conversation, each video is created with our own distinct style, perspective and commentary. 🙏
@BillAckman@Harvard@MIT@Penn This is so astonishingly debased. As another said here, this is sadly a lagging indicator of our collective ethical reasoning as a society.
In 1960, the median home price was $11,600. The median income was $5600. That’s a home price to income ratio of 2:1
In 2023, the median home costs around $416,000. The median household income is $75,000. That’s a a home price to income ratio of 5.5:1
This is unsustainable.
