What I shockingly learned from "Lebanon: Understanding Anti-Feminist Backlash":
> women have no right to pass down citizenship to kids
> "honor killings clause" till 2011
> current legislature has a record of women, that record is 6 ๐
And the economic crisis is just the latest hit on women's rights, which, given the lack of any state aid, are forced to shoulder increasing costs of childcare, health insurance, etc. #Feminism#EqualityforAll#femmes
"Lebanon's Anti-Feminist Backlash" is the opportunity to be shocked by the systemic discrimination of women. Here, a women can only be in the census someone's wife or daughter. Even LAU asked me to give them the name of my father, husband or fiance. That's all I am in Lebanon.
Unfortunately, only a quarter of the participants are men. And, in a country where misogyny is inscribed in law, it's important to have their support, as women voices are regularly shut down. I mean, they can't even give citizenship to their kids. Don't get how this is ok in 2023
